Steps to Donating a Car
Car Donations in
Call or fill out an online car donation form.
A car donation specialist
will call you back within
30 minutes to verify your
information and schedule
a pickup.
Make sure you know the year, make and model of
the car, and where the car will be picked-up from.
Know all your contact information
including: full name
mailing address
phone number
Goodwill accepts ALL
vehicles in ALL
conditions, even if
they need repairs or
no longer run.
After your car has
been approved for
donation, the
Goodwill collects the
vehicle, free of
charge – and the title
is signed over.
After your vehicle has been sold . . .
You will receive
notification with
the amount it
was sold for . . .
And this will determine how much you can claim as charitable donations on your tax forms.
Once it’s de-registered,
then call your insurance
company to cancel
coverage (they might
want a copy of the
donation receipt, too).
Remember to
take a “copy” of
the donation
receipt, your
license tags and
registration to the
DMV as soon as
possible to de-
register the car.
