YoGo Frozen Yogurt
The Business Plan
Founder: Christina Breitbeil
Company Name and Logo: YoGo Frozen Yogurt
• I chose the name “YoGo” because, when pronounced “Yoh-Goh,” it sounds like a shortened form of “yogurt.” It also is short and catchy.
• The logo is a swirl because frozen yogurt, if looked at from above, simply appears as a swirl. It is also bright and eye catching.
The Product
• What I am selling is Frozen Yogurt.
• More specifically: a frozen desert that is made out of milk based dairy products.
• Serves as a tasty, low fat alternative to ice cream.
• Will be available in a variety of flavors, and nutritional types, including: sorbet (water-based), premium (higher fat), non-fat, no sugar added, and low-fat.
Potential Customers
• My potential customers are anyone in the Houston area who desires a refreshing, low-calorie snack that can also help them cool down from the hot summer days.
• The targeted age group would be children from ages 4-10 and teenagers ages 13-18.
• Anyone that seeks quality desert at a reasonable price will be a satisfied customer.
Overhead
• The cost of renting the store space is $300 a month, plus cost of insurance and electricity.
• Yogurt machines (four two-flavor machines): about $9,000 each.
• Yogurt mix: $250 per month.
• Toppings: $300 per month.
• Registers: $300 each, 2 = $600.
• Refrigerator and Freezer: $10,000
• Miscellaneous supplies (cups, spoons, lids..): $150 per month.
Profit
• YoGo will profit by selling the frozen yogurt (with toppings included) at 55 cents per ounce.
• At this rate, YoGo will make a profit of $1.00 for every 6 ounce cup of frozen yogurt purchased, which is a 30.3% profit.
Employees
• (1) Store Manager [$18/hr]– Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree and have attended 4 years of college; previous experience required.
• (1) Assistant Manager [$12/hr]– Must have attended at least 2 years of college; previous experience required.
• (6) General Employees [$8/hr]– Previous experience preferred; perform most of the interaction with the customers.
Growth Plan
• As stated on the profit page, YoGo will make a 30.3% profit with each purchase.
• If business levels out to a steady rate, then at the percent of profit the company is currently depending on, we will have the ability to expand with more stores within the next few years.
• Instead of expanding with more stores in the south, YoGo will expand as a chain (not a franchise) to the north, so that word will spread across the nation.
