How

Great businesses have more than great vision. They have strategies and systems that enable them to open up space in the market and give them the room they need to grow.

Identifying these strategies and systems takes a specialised skill set. One that can firstly analyse and imagine how it could be possible and then engineer the mechanics to make it happen.

Imagineering has been helping its clients realise their ambitions for more than 10 years. Here are a few case studies to give you a bit of background about how we work.

If you have a vision of where you want to be, we have the discipline, skills and creativity to help you to get there.

The perspiration needed to bring the inspiration to life.

gathering insight

1After a period of negative sales growth this company wanted to

understand the market dynamics causing it to falter – not leave

it to chance that things will improve on their own.

How could they position themselves to capture greater

levels of growth?

New information, or an alternative perspective can breathe new life into

an organisation. And that’s exactly what happened for this business.

They not only realised they were being left behind they engaged market

experts to help them understand it and position them for positive future growth. Imagineering spent 3 weeks investigating the significant changes and trends impacting their industry, and interpreting what each would

mean for the growth of their business.

Numerous areas of opportunity were identified and documented in a robust

business case. It generated excitement, ideas and insightful plans

for the future.

Performing to plan, however lacking attention for years, big decisions needed to be made

about a category of high margin products.

What was the full potential of the category and would it

warrant the huge investment required to keep it in the

market?

determining direction

Over the course of 5 months Imagineering led an internal cross-

functional project team that worked through the issues and scoped the

growth opportunity for this category.

The approach was methodical incorporating an analysis of the

consumer and market opportunity (which proved to be significant) as

well as a detailed assessment of the steps required to resolve the internal

operational and manufacturing challenges.

Armed with an enhanced business model design and a full financial

model the team recommended that the company invest. Given the rigour

of the process and strength of the findings the execs agreed!

With value growth stifled by an inefficient pricing rebate

structure, this manufacturer bravely decided to move

to a net price.

How would the market respond? Would it resolve the issues or threaten their market share?

Determining strategy at a high level is one thing, being able to implement it is quite another, especially when it’s customer facing and highly complex.

As a member of the implementation team Imagineering’s Tristonne Forbes

assisted with the detailed design of the new pricing mechanisms and

reward schemes ensuring they retained the spirit of their strategic

intentions – reducing the pressure for deal pricing from competing resellers.

Significant financial modelling and scenario analysis assisted decision

making, and reduced implementation risk. The new pricing model was

successfully launched without loss of market share.
