GENERAL PROFILEEMOTIONAL STABILITY

Emotional stability is the tendency to behave as a calm and self-confident person, to control one’s emotions in stressfulsituations and to stay optimistic when encountering setbacks or frustration.

You may come across as being less relaxed and deal with things in a rather tense or restless manner. Your strongcommitment to your tasks means you sometimes have difficulties letting go. In case of failure on a task you oftentake the blame upon yourself.

As a rule, you are rather optimistic. Although you are not blind to the negative side of things, you generally believethat everything will turn out relatively well. You have an optimistic way of looking at things.

You describe yourself as rather stress sensitive and someone who cannot always cope with tension and pressure. You occasionally feel out of your depth in crisis situations or periods of increased pressure. You are thenoverwhelmed by the situation. In that sense, you have a signal function about increased work pressure.

You only come to a final decision after carefully weighing the pros and cons. You take the time to think things overcalmly and do not allow yourself to be rushed into drawing conclusions quickly. When confronted withcontradictory information, you tend to hesitate.

EXTRAVERSION

Extraversion is the tendency to behave as a dominant and assertive person, to take the lead in a group, to be talkative in adiscussion and to feel the need to influence and motivate other people.

You almost always take charge. You like to lead and choose to take the initiative. You give clear instructions toothers. You are rather authoritative, which means you sometimes do not allow enough input from others or leavethem little room to take the initiative.

You regularly contribute to conversations but do not have any problem letting others talk from time to time. Youtherefore are able to listen. Generally speaking you are rather fluent, without dominating the conversation.

Based on convincing arguments you usually manage to sway the result of a negotiating situation in your favour. You like to negotiate and will rarely allow yourself to be easily convinced by others.

Quite often you will take it upon yourself to encourage and motivate others to perform a task. You are enthusiasticand warm enough for this. This attitude allows you to build a good rapport with your employees.

OPENNESS

Openness is the tendency to be curious towards new ideas, alternatives and experiences, to have original insights andcreative ideas and to be open-minded towards models, theories and complex problems.

You stand midway between theoretical interest and a practical attitude. Although you like abstract theories, thepractical application always needs to be obvious. In fact, abstract concepts only interest you when their practicaluse is clear.

You are very creative, constantly generate new ideas and original views. By nature, you explore new angles andregularly make innovative proposals. Because of this you might lose sight of the established values andoccasionally risk coming up with unrealistic ideas that are not feasible in practice.

You have no outspoken preference for either routine or change. You will not always initiate change yourself butare usually prepared to adapt to new working methods. Routine tasks do not interest you much, but you do notoppose them.

You do not necessarily consider the first option to be the best one. You usually try out a couple of possibilities andalso come up with a number of alternatives. You consider a limited number of options before making a choice.

ALTRUISM

Altruism is the tendency to behave as a cooperative, warm and agreeable person, to feel the need to be in company and tolook for social contact with other people.

You like company but from time to time look for occasions where you can spend time alone. You enjoy thepresence of others, but do not always feel the need to actively seek other people's company.

You usually do not seek to collaborate much and you prefer to do the work yourself. You barely consult andinvolve others in your work. You adopt an autonomous attitude and usually work independently, since you thinkthat individual work is more efficient than teamwork.

You can be described as quite helpful. You will step in when others have a problem but you do not appreciate itmuch when others continuously come to you with their questions or problems.

In most situations you are perceived as a social person. You easily make contact, are friendly and get on withmost people, even people you do not know. Consequently, you come across as friendly, pleasant andspontaneous.

CONSCIENTIOUSNESS

Conscientiousness is the tendency to behave as a reliable, objective and organised person, to take tasks to heart in ameticulous way and to carry out tasks till the end.

You usually plan tasks in function of priorities and you set intermediate deadlines. However, you are sufficientlyflexible to abandon this and change your planning if necessary. It also happens that you start a task unprepared.Generally you follow the progress of running projects but routine jobs are sometimes forgotten.

You are less focused on completing your work down to the smallest detail but you focus more on the broadoutlines. Because your handling of things is not very systematic, you occasionally overlook details. Sometimesyou may lack a fixed methodology throughout your work.

You pay little attention to facts and rely on your intuition and gut feeling. You are not inclined to quantify ormeasure things. You are indeed convinced that you can sense things which cannot be demonstrated in facts andfigures.

In case of setbacks or opposition you are sometimes inclined to take on other jobs and to abandon the jobs youwere working on. You describe yourself as someone who will not go to extremes to still complete the task whenyou feel you've reached your limits.

PROFESSIONALISM

You are reasonably career-minded and moderately ambitious. Nevertheless, your career development is not yourmain concern. You do not want to stand still but do not feel the need to hold a high level position so you setyourself moderate goals.

You ask few questions about the information and ideas of others, and accept them as true. Your critical attitude istherefore only restricted to sporadically identifying contradictions in others reasoning and information. Generallyspeaking you are less critical of others instructions and will probably follow them without asking questions.

You are sufficiently result-oriented, but your aim is not to beat others at all costs. You can be competitive but haveno problem letting others win or leave their mark. You do not always want to be the best but do want to achievesufficiently good results.

You set yourself medium-terms goals and look at things from a tactical perspective in the medium term. Bothoperational and more strategic aspects appeal to you. You also look across the boundaries of your owndepartment. You are less interested in the real long term.

You have your own opinion and approach, but are also open to an enforced approach that needs to be followed. You are able to steer yourself but also allow yourself to be guided. It happens that you use others to form youropinion.
