Wedding

The first step in the wedding is when relatives and friends prepare invitations

Two or three nights before the wedding, a stag party and a hen night is organized – saying “goodbye” to the groom and bride by their friends.

In the Wedding day…

Firstly they all go to “the wedding hall” for marriage or in the

church, where the priest performs the wedding ceremony.

There is a custom the bridesmaid placing a white cloth in front of the bride and groom to walk over, which is a symbol of purity, happiness, luck,etc.

The round shape of the wedding ring symbolizes the promise of eternal love, loyalty and fidelity.

There is a belief whoever steps on the other’s leg, will be the ‘’bossy’’ in the family!

After drinking champagne the couple throw their glasses behind –the more pieces of broken glass, the more children they are going to have!

Breaking the loaf to pieces!

This ritual is performed in the middle of the wedding.

Newlyweds turn back to each

other. Godfather holds the bread

over their heads. It is

believed that the one who

breaks off the bigger part of it will dominate at

home.

White and red flowers are put In a cooper pot . White is a symbol of a male child and red is a

symbol of a female child.

The bride has to kick this cooper pot, whatever the first flower is ,this will be the child of the young family.

Godmother is the one together with the bridesmaids to help the bride get ready for the wedding ceremony…

…And coming out of the church, she should throw candies.

Throwing the bouquet symbolizes the separation of its identity with the girl on a lonely woman and becoming a wife.

Cutting the wedding cake at the end of the evening together.

And finally ,after everything is over , the groom must carry the bride over the threshold of their new

home, the evil spirits not to feel that they are

already a couple.
