Now a days bottled water costs minimum Rs. 20/- per litre
For us tap water Costs a lot more cheaper than the bottled water
South India is the biggest consumer of bottled water representing more
than 50 per cent of the total market in India followed by Western India, which is the home ground of major national brands
Consumption of every litre of bottled water leads to waste plastic bottles
Hundreds of Water bottles end up as garbage
The per capita consumption of bottled water in India was at 16.20 litres during 2010-11 and jumped by almost 21%to 19.60 litres in 2011-12
For every 1500 litres of water, a barrel of oil is used to produce those plastic bottles.
For every 10,400 litres of water, one ton of carbon-di-oxide is produced for manufacturing the bottles.
