need

Property owners, small business and nonprofits in underserved communities continue to overpay for energy because:

1) not engaged, thus not aware- communities where retrofit savings benefit most are often the last to be engaged

2) challenges financing upfront investment $1,000-$10,000- ‘too risky’ for banks, borrower due diligence too costly/too little data

BlocPower will work through community leaders leaders to aggregate “blocs” of small businesses and property owners:-

1) Negotiate pricing discounts 2) Create peer to peer social pressure for repayment3) Hire local unemployed residents for product installation 4) Negotiate/structure partnerships for 0%/low interest financing

Kiva Zip partners community leaders, nonprofits and grassroot organizations to endorse small business owners of “trustworthy character” for 0% interest capital:-

• 0% interest microloans entirely crowdfunded online ($5000, $10,000, $20,000)• Unique: Pure character-based lending, designed to help small businesses and borrowers with damaged credit and/or ‘too risky’ for traditional lending• “Lending based on Trust and Good Faith” - no credit score, no collections agency• Successfully funded 821 small businesses in 16 months, 226 in the US (99.5% funding rate, 90% repayment rate)• Pays for monthly installments (principal only) out of monthly energy savings
