Denizen

Denizen is a purely online bank with no physical branches, and a subsidiary of multinational Spanish banking group BBVA. The bank uses BlockNotary Interview in onboarding processes for proof-of-life and identity verification.

Workflow. A client opens the bank’s mobile app to sign up for an account. After entering personal information, the client records a video with required steps. The app asks the client to read a code and to show an identification document. After uploading the video and scans to Denizen bank’s servers, the client waits for a response from the KYC (Know your customer) team.

Technical info. Interview SDK integrated in iOS and Android version of the bank app. Interview SDK integrated as Ionic native plug-in.

Alfa Bank and Potok

Potok is an online service in which individuals make loans to businesses. It is a subsidiary of Alfa Bank, the largest private commercial bank in Russia. The bank provides KYC (Know your customer) information to Potok and handles payments. Potok pilots BlockNotary Interview to record video statements between borrowers and the bank.

Workflow. The bank sends a link for an interview to a borrower. The borrower downloads the Potok mobile app and follows the link from email or text. The borrower validates their phone number [Steps 1, 2, 3] and agrees to terms of service [Step 4]. After that, the borrower records a verbal contract [Steps 5, 6], presents their passport [Step 7], and presents a signed contract [Step 7]. The borrower reviews the recorded interview [Step 8] before uploading to Potok's cloud.

Technical info. The app uses the BlockNotary Interview theming feature for white labeling. Setup uses both Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains to provide umbrella timestamping.
