9.05 Survival Guide for Business Start-Ups: Overcoming Common Pitfalls Creatively

Survival rate of businesses in Malaysia is estimated at about only 40% and failure is often due to identifiable mistakes commonly experienced by business start-ups. If business owners are better informed and prepared for the pitfalls ahead, they can increase their chances of survival. Surveys conducted in the past few years have revealed that challenges regularly faced by businesses in Malaysia include human resource constraints, managing cashflows, poor management practices, a lack of access to better technology and low levels of investments in research and development, just to name a few. In this session, we dissect some of these issues, examine best practices which have emerged from the market and identify facilities available in the market which can help equip your business with the tools you need to sustain your business.
