1. Find a source of calcium carbonate

The first step is to search for the raw material for quicklime.

These raw materials can be bought at hardware stores, garden stores or construction

material suppliers.

2. Get the right amount of rock:

In order to make your quicklime, you need to get the right amount of rock.

For every 1 unit of quicklime you want to make, you would require 1.8 units of raw

calcium carbonate.

3. Put the calcium carbonate in the kiln:

Once the kiln is fully heated up then next step is to put the mixture of calcium carbonate

into an appropriate container and place it in the kiln.

Continue for about two to three minutes.

The rock will decompose on heating and creates quicklime and carbon dioxide.

4. Let your quicklime cool.

Once you have melted your calcium carbonate mixture and produced quicklime.

5. Store your quicklime:

You need to store the quicklime properly.

Storing it properly is extremely important. Reason being, quicklime is a potentially
