BEHAVIOUR

We all say and do things as a result of certain habit patterns and people make predictions about us because they come to expect us to behave in a particular way.

Page 3: Behaviour,beliefs

Why do people develop behavioral

patterns?

Page 4: Behaviour,beliefs

People tend to do things that make them comfortable

Once a pattern of actions receives positive reinforcement, we have a tendency to repeat it.

Exercise -1

When a guest comes into your house what do you do?

What do you do when a 2nd guest comes in to your house?( after the first goes)

What do you do when a 3rd guest comes into your house? (after the previous one goes)

Exercise -2

What do you do when a 2nd guest comes in to your house when you already are talking to a guest?

What do you do when a 3rd one comes in when you already are busy with 2 others?

Exercise -3

Think about your own actions. When you are in a social situation, Do you have a tendency to begin giving orders, or do you prefer to withdraw?

Exercise -4

Page 9: Behaviour,beliefs

You personal actions have an effect on your success.

The way you act when you are with

others – your social style sends a

message that influences the way that

they in turn act with you

Page 10: Behaviour,beliefs

Therefore,

the better you understand your

interactions, the greater your

chances of having positive

relationship with people

Page 11: Behaviour,beliefs

Remember –

‘NO ONE STYLE IS GOOD OR BAD’

Any style can be successful as long as the person uses it in a way that makes others comfortable.

PERSONAL BELIEFS

Beliefs: are the assumptions we make about ourselves and others in the world and about how we expect things to be.

Page 13: Behaviour,beliefs

Beliefs are about how we think things really are, what we think is really true and what we therefore expect as likely consequences that will follow from our behavior.

Page 14: Behaviour,beliefs

What do you believe

about yourself?

Page 15: Behaviour,beliefs

Many of the limitations you face in life are self imposed.

What you believe about yourself can keep you locked behind your fears

or

thrust you forward into living our dreams

Page 16: Behaviour,beliefs

Values:

are about how we have learnt to think things out to be or people out to behave, especially in terms of qualities such as honesty, integrity and openness.

Page 17: Behaviour,beliefs
