For exceptional service on the Arlington National Cemetery Millennium and Navy Annex Expansion Projects 1391 development. This team worked on site layout, cost estimating, P2 resourcing, and all necessary programming actions to enter this project in the military construction process in five days.

For her service leading a team of volunteers from the Norfolk District to participate in the annual Clean the Bay Day. The group removed approximately 3,135 pounds of trash. Her personal efforts and initiative made a valuable contribution to the Norfolk District’s involvement in our community and the welfare of our employees.

Chris Turner

For his exemplary service as the Norfolk District Project Manager leading up to and during OpSail 2012 Virginia. Mr. Turner represented Norfolk District during committee meetings and coordinated activities at the District for vessel dockage, historic Fort Norfolk commemoration, visitor and dignitary access, and set-aside areas for viewing the Parade of Sail. Mr. Turner’s excellent planning and coordination of the activities resulted in an event which favorably represented the District and Fort Norfolk.

Krista Sowers*

For her exemplary service as the Norfolk District Welfare Council President from January 2011 through August 2012. While serving as the highly motivated and energetic president of the Welfare Council, she and her team planned and executed numerous successful events that enhanced district morale. Those events included a well attended off-site Christmas party, Engineer’s Day picnic and activities, a Halloween costume contest, Valentine’s Day gift opportunities, bake sales, and on-site craft fairs.
