What should my blog look like?

So far you should have:

• Preliminary task shot list• Preliminary task video embedded from Youtube• Preliminary task evaluation (400 words)• Two film opening analyses each (with images)• Initial planning meeting post (3 initial ideas)

* If there are 4 people in your group this is 12 posts (3 = 10)

Research and Planning

• There are 20 marks available for your research and planning and this should be done beforeyou can go out filming.

• You should aim to be filming during the week beginning 3rd Feb ( 1.5 weeks away)

This should include…

• Genre research (at least 5 genres with accompanying Youtube links and stills)

• Treatment

• Storyboard (at least 18 frames)

• A detailed shot list (at least 15 shots)

• Annotated location stills (at least 10)

• Costume research

• Prop research

• Shooting schedule

Genre research

You need to research at least five different film genres e.g Horror, Romantic Comedy etc.

• Conventions

• Famous examples

• Youtube links

Treatment

• This is your idea proposal (a template is available)

Storyboard and shot list

• Your storyboard will need at least 18 frames and must be annotated (templates are available!)

• You shot list should be completed before you start filming. It is a list of the shots you intendto get e.g. close up of Louise’s hand as she puts on her glove etc.

Location stills

• You will need to arrange to visit your location and take some photographs of it before you start filming to ensure it is the right place for you.

Costume/prop research

• You will need to decide upon the costumes your characters will wear. In films every item of clothing is carefully selected for a reason. You can photograph clothing or take images from Google.

• Make up?

• Props – will there be significant props in your film opening? Will you need to source anything?

Shooting schedule

• This is your intended time scale – how many days will you spend filming, how many will you spend editing?

• Transport plans (Google maps, screen grabs of text/Facebook arrangements)

• Moodboard

• Target audience profile

• Animatic storyboard

• Surveymonkey/doodle poll data
