What should my blog look like?
W/C 20th January
What should my blog look like?
So far you should have:
• Preliminary task shot list• Preliminary task video embedded from Youtube• Preliminary task evaluation (400 words)• Two film opening analyses each (with images)• Initial planning meeting post (3 initial ideas)
* If there are 4 people in your group this is 12 posts (3 = 10)
Research and Planning
• There are 20 marks available for your research and planning and this should be done beforeyou can go out filming.
• You should aim to be filming during the week beginning 3rd Feb ( 1.5 weeks away)
This should include…
• Genre research (at least 5 genres with accompanying Youtube links and stills)
• Treatment
• Storyboard (at least 18 frames)
• A detailed shot list (at least 15 shots)
• Annotated location stills (at least 10)
• Costume research
• Prop research
• Shooting schedule
Genre research
You need to research at least five different film genres e.g Horror, Romantic Comedy etc.
• Conventions
• Famous examples
• Youtube links
Treatment
• This is your idea proposal (a template is available)
Storyboard and shot list
• Your storyboard will need at least 18 frames and must be annotated (templates are available!)
• You shot list should be completed before you start filming. It is a list of the shots you intendto get e.g. close up of Louise’s hand as she puts on her glove etc.
Location stills
• You will need to arrange to visit your location and take some photographs of it before you start filming to ensure it is the right place for you.
Costume/prop research
• You will need to decide upon the costumes your characters will wear. In films every item of clothing is carefully selected for a reason. You can photograph clothing or take images from Google.
• Make up?
• Props – will there be significant props in your film opening? Will you need to source anything?
Shooting schedule
• This is your intended time scale – how many days will you spend filming, how many will you spend editing?
Other posts
• Transport plans (Google maps, screen grabs of text/Facebook arrangements)
• Moodboard
• Target audience profile
• Animatic storyboard
• Surveymonkey/doodle poll data
Today
• You need to decide upon your final idea – be creative!
• Divide up the remaining research and planning tasks.
