Stage 2:Customer Journey

Following the award of the Addleshaw Goddard contract in June of this year, the Anabas team have been working hard to mobilise the contract, with a strong eye for detail at the prestigious law firm. Mobilisation Manager Maxcene Crowe tells Insight about the mobilisation of the new contract and talks about the plans for the contract.

We had a very swift five week mobilisation which saw sixty new staff joining the Anabas family and also sees us working in partnership with Corps Security to deliver security services at the sites. We would like to say an official warm welcome to our family, we think it is really great that you decided to join us. We are absolutely delighted!

With a close eye for detail needed for the service we are providing at Addleshaw Goddard, we are taking a 3-stage approach to managing, engaging and developing the customer experience at the law firm’s 3 offices in London, Leeds and Manchester.

Our focus for now stays firmly on the remainder of the first six months. It will continue to be a busy few months for the Anabas team at Addleshaw Goddard, but we’re really excited about what we’re doing and have a lot to focus on in the run up to the end of this year.

Check out the next issue of Insight for a full feature on the contract, when we’ll find out more about the contract developments and will meet some of the new team.

Contract Focus: LEGO

Like child’s playOur new contract with LEGO has put Anabas in touch with its playful side. Insight finds out what lies at the heart of the team’s approach to making our customer smile.

The contract started in April of this year, with Anabas providing a range of services across LEGO’s UK head office site in Slough. The site is part of a multi-tenanted building and houses around 300 LEGO staff, responsible for a variety of head-office functions. LEGO’s global headquarters is based in Billund, Denmark and is still privately

owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family, who founded it in 1932. As LEGO’s main hub for their

UK operations, the site contains one of the

company’s

major international contact centres. Jane added, “The contact centre staff numbers double in size from October through to

February. The team speak over 17 languages and provide services to LEGO’s customers all over Europe and some of the Americas. Where a part is missing, they talk this through with the customer and then send out the replacement parts, which is really important for LEGO”.

The site also has a large on-site Marketing and Public Relations team, and is home to their business to business showroom.

The showroom is regularly visited by the UK’s biggest toy retailers, and displays LEGO’s newest

products. “It certainly poses

some different challenges for our Facilities team on site, but it is a great space to work! I am sure it is definitely one of the most colourful spaces that we maintain,” Jane says of the showroom.

The contract is also complimented by our partnership with Bennett Hay, the on-site catering team, who provide a bistro service as part of the contract. Jane says, “The Bennett Hay team are always looking at the practicalities of running things and we work very closely with them to continually develop the services and menus”.

So what do the coming months have in store for the team? As Santa’s to do list increases by the day, so too will the site get busier by the day, with another hectic Christmas expected. Jane says, “Our team will be working hard over the next 6 months to make things as smooth as possible,

“The last couple of months has been a busy time for our team at LEGO and it can only get busier, as LEGO’s ‘high season’ is now in full swing. With the approach of the festive season, this is LEGO’s busiest time of year”, Anabas Contract Manager, Jane McCarte says.

always making sure that we deliver a very high standard of service and providing the best level of support to LEGO, no matter what we are doing”.

Jane is enjoying her new challenge at LEGO. She added, “I love the variation of the job and like the changing nature of the daily challenges that we face as an FM team. For me it’s all about the people, when our team are really enthusiastic about what we do, our clients are equally enthused about what we are doing.”

Jane added, “It’s all about service with a smile, where nothing is too much trouble. It’s also about making sure that we deliver an integrated and seamless approach across our services, no matter who we work for.”

As a relatively new member of the Anabas team at LEGO, Postroom Manager, Ellie Jaffa is enjoying her new role, saying,

“I originally started with Anabas in a part-time admin role on our contract with Anglo American. This gave me a great background and since joining the team at LEGO, I have taken on more of a facilities role, working closely with Jane McCarte, which I am really enjoying.

I’m also getting a chance to do more facilities training over the next few months, which should really help me in my role”.

LOVES:Ellie enjoys playing tennis and in her spare time Ellie is also an aspiring TV presenter. Move over Holly Willoughby!

Receptionists Clare Puddle and Helen Saunders, although new to the Anabas team, are very well known faces at LEGO.

Clare Puddle is one of the longest standing members of the team at Slough, having worked at the LEGO site in Slough for over 14 years. Helen has been working at the site for the last year, having originally joined the Reception team on a temporary basis. Both transferred to the Anabas team when the contract was awarded earlier this year and they are both very well-known on site, as they are often the first members of the Anabas team that LEGO’s staff and visitors meet on arrival at the office.

“I love working at LEGO as it has a real family feel about it, which is lovely. I think the Anabas team has fitted in really well and has given a real focus to the team”, Clare says.“I love meeting new people through my role and like the buzz of working in Reception. The busier the better really!” she added.

LOVES:Clare loves walking, and walks over 4 miles from work to her home everyday. She enjoys spending time with her husband, nieces and parents and likes a good day trip – particularly on a Sunday.

Helen says, “Everyone is very enthusiastic here and it is a nice friendly place to work. Anabas has brought some new ideas including uniforms for the reception team. We also have the freedom to give our own ideas about how we can do things differently”.

LOVES:Helen is involved in running the Lions Club International Burnham branch in Buckinghamshire. The International charity works in communities all over the world with many exciting projects. This has seen Helen involved in all sorts of events including a recent Swimathon in Windsor, where they raised over £800 for the charity. She is currently busy organising the entertainment for a forthcoming Christmas street festival, which she is very excited about.

So what does the Anabas team at LEGO have to say about what they do? Meet some of the stars of our team at LEGO, to tell us a bit more about what makes their day special…

The Diary: Adebayo OduyemiAn insight into day to day activities with one of our people

To celebrate the launch of the new LAX St Botolph’s fitness club with LA fitness, Anabas Site Manager, Ade Oduyemi tells Insight about his new role and lifts the lid on his day. Known as Ade to his colleagues, he has been with the business over 5 years, starting as a Cleaner with Anabas at LA fitness. Progressing to a mobile role and then to a Supervisor’s position, he has been recently promoted to Site Manager at the prestigious new fitness club in the heart of London.

My day generally starts around 9am and often starts before I leave for work, when I check my iPad to see if I have any emails which need attention. I live in Southeast London so my commute generally takes around 1 hour.

It has been a busy week here at LAX St Botolph’s We are working hard to make sure that everything is done to perfection, ready for the club’s launch on 28th October. We’ve completed the recruitment of the Anabas Cleaning team for the site, and I’ve been training and updating all of the new staff who will be joining the team.

At the moment, we have two staff on site, Antony Agienoji and Emma Carribine, who have both been working with the Anabas team at LA fitness over the last 18 months. We’ve all been working right behind the LAX team as they have been finishing each area. When the club opens, we’ll have a total of 8 staff on the team, with Abdul Azeez Banji Odumosu, Maria

As part of the training, I joined the LAX team on the LA Fitness training to prepare for the launch. I also did some of the fitness classes which will be running at the club, although 4 classes back to back was pretty tough!

It has been great though and has motivated me to get toned up and fit. Once things are up and running I am planning to start some classes…I really liked Body Combat, so I will definitely be giving that a go when I get a chance.

Our team at LA fitness have been hard at work over recent months preparing for the launch of the exclusive LAX St Botolph’s. Insight caught up with the Anabas team to find out more about this exciting new facility in London’s square mile.

Speak to your line manager if you have any questions and remember Truffle’s motto:

SAFETY BREEDS SUCCESS!DID YOU KNOW?

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is the last resort as it only protects the one person. We should first look to use measures which protect the whole group, then as an additional measure use PPE.

Supporting you every step of the way

Health and Safety lies at the heart of what we do and is for the good of everyone. Mick Stephenson, Health and Safety Manager for Anabas, talks about what is going on around the business to make sure that everyone goes home fit and healthy.

As the business grows, our focus on Health and Safety continues to grow and strengthen.

We’ve had a big focus on our Health and Safety training, with the introduction of the National Safety Passport. A number of site-based and mobile managers have now completed the training.

The National Safety Passport is the fastest growing safety passport in the UK and provides our managers and supervisory teams with a minimum standard of safety knowledge, which is an essential requirement of the Health & Safety at Work act 1974.

We at Anabas were the first FM business in the UK to introduce this as compulsory for managers. This training is, helping to keep our teams compliant with legislation and our staff safe around the business.

Due to the success of this initiative, we are now in the process of rolling this out across our teams, through the introduction of Safety Champions.

They have volunteered from across the business to take ownership for Health and Safety within our teams and provide an extra focus on this key area going forward.

During the coming months, they will also be completing the National Safety Passport, aimed at staff working at the front line of our operations, as additional supervisory safety training is delivered to Managers. Anyone interested in volunteering as a safety champion should speak to their line Manager. We will provide further guidance on this role over the coming weeks.

Everyone can make a differenceWe are continuing our focus on reducing hazards across the business and promoting a safer working culture in all areas of our operations. No matter what your role, we think that everyone can make a difference to what we do.

The new Hazard Observation form has been published in the last couple of months and allows everyone to get involved

in protecting our people. You can request a copy from your line manager or the Health and Safety team by emailing [email protected].

All it takes is for one person to report a hazard, which could save someone else from injury at work. Hazards can either be reported to a line manager or anonymously to Mick Stephenson, Health and Safety Manager.

If we reduce potential hazards across our contract, we can make sure that everyone goes home fit and healthy. Not only does this help us to reduce absences and increase the productivity of our teams, but it helps us to be more successful as a business.
