The world's greatest economic power that is measured in terms of the gross domestic product (GDP), the United States showcases an inevitable nation with immense wealth and a huge agricultural output and highly developed industries. But being one of the world's most powerful countries doesn't evict the state from having a surge of current political issues that are a challenge to combat.  A detailed list of some of the roaring current political issues.  Religious freedom act. - This allows people of all religious beliefs to avail of the services provided for the common man without the fear of being divided or outcast on behalf of the religion they put their faith in. Immigration - An overwhelming part of the US population consists of immigrants and sadly most of them are known to enter the state illegally. A challenging issue to combat for a long time, this political issue has been a controversial one.

● Free speech- A bedrock of the Bill of Rights, freedom of speech is one's birthright. But this also has been marred as some of the current political issues because an individual cannot say anything without filtering that they want on a transparent medium such as the media.

Terrorism - America has been home to some of the most heinous and spine chilling terrorist activities. Though now effectively reduced, this is an underlying political issue that requires some serious attention. Social Security and Medicare- Financial stability and Medicare are some of the basic necessities when it comes to mankind. The government has to handle the issues accordingly to help as many of them as possible who are incapable of affording these basic amenities. Student loans- American students are known to pass as college graduates with crushing debt loans that may take almost decades before being paid off and many don't understand tangible conditions before signing up. The government should play a fundamental role in educating the youth regarding the loans available and their sanctioning to avoid acute exploitation.Abortion - No issue is more contentious and it indeed demands a stone-cold stance from politicians in both major parties. Is it even possible to debate this issue in a civilized manner? Abortion rights and methodologies are being put to question. ● Unemployment- The unemployment rate is down and as per the economist experts they have either part-time jobs or the workers leaving their workforce to put the blame on. ● Gun buyback - With the easiest access to avail a gun in the U.S and a terrifying increase in the amount of gun violence recently, this is surely not what the Founding Fathers intended while drafting the second amendment.

Homelessness- In the year 2014, more than 600,000 Americans were homeless. The government and society alike have to play a convincing role to eradicate this plight that plagues so many. Climate change- The planet's climate is changing and that's surely for the worse. With ever surging temperatures and increasing sea levels, this is a case that should hold acute concern for the government. Racism- The question is how bad is the American system plagued by the social evil of racism? Campaign finance reform- In the call of the Supreme Court Citizens United Ruling, corporations can donate enormous sums of money to shadowy and immensely secretive political action figures and committee.
