Every one of you must have heard at least once about application store optimization or app
store optimization i.e. ASO. Does it sound similar to SEO? What exactly is the difference
between the two? Read further for knowing about ASO and how it is different from SEO. It is a
well-known fact that SEO is a process that is used to optimize the websites. The optimization
is done only to achieve higher ranks on the search results of various search engines such as
Google, Bing, and etc. SEO is generally referred as Search Engine Optimization. Here, know
how SEO is related to ASO i.e. Application Store Optimization?
In the procedure of app store optimization, the apps are optimized for any particular app
store. This is also done to attain high ranks in the search results of the app stores. Attaining
high visibility among millions of apps is also the motive of implementing the ASO tactics.
Thus, the concept of attaining a high rank in the search results of search engines or app
stores is similar in both SEO and ASO. The difference is only that SEO is done for websites and
ASO is done for apps. ASO is a modified form of simple and basic SEO strategies.
In simple words, you can term ASO as the SEO for app stores as well. The procedure of ASO is accomplished
by concentrating on various elements which are considered of utmost importance. The elements such as title
and the keywords play a very prominent role in attaining high ranks in the search results. There are other
secondary factors as well which are also significant. Total number of downloads, ratings and reviews of the
apps also contribute in the ranking of any particular app. But the most important point to remember is that,
ASO takes time. There is a constant need to monitor the process over a certain period of time. Then only, you
can achieve the desired results.
