Rule #1: Use few words.

Simplify language

A picture or graphic is

worth a million words.

Rule #2: Break your message

up into bite-size

chunks.

Rule #3: Be sure to tell a clear

story.

Make sure anyone

can understand, at

any moment.

Rule #4: Data without an analysis is

useless.

Never assume people will

draw the conclusions you

want them to.

Tell your story.

Rule #5: Presentations should be:

Informative

Interesting

Enjoyable

Entertaining

Rule #6: Be consistent with:

Fonts and sizes

Punctuation

Bullets, colors, themes, and

backgrounds

Images

Rule #7: Do not fear white

space.

Rule #8: Do not use slides that just

contain paragraphs of text.

Instead:

• Bullet information

• Include a graphic

• Display the message visually
