In the early 1700s, a large shelf of bare
rock was exposed by the rushing waters of
Niagara as the brink receded southward.
For generations the shelf served as a scenic
vantage point which was known as Table
Rock. Sections of rock would occasionally
fall off however and in 1935 the remaining
ledge was blasted off for safety. Buildings at
this landmark location have retained the
name Table Rock to this day.
Edgewaters Restaurant is located on the
upper level of historic Queen Victoria
Place. It offers a panoramic view of both
the American and Horseshoe Falls. Dine
indoors or on the expansive covered
terrace. Summer nights sizzle on the
Edgewaters terrace as guests enjoy the
Falls illuminations and select evenings
free concerts and amazing fireworks.
Host your special banquet and reception
in the Commissioner’s Quarters (atop
Edgewaters Restaurant) with its birds-eye
view of the Falls visible through original
leaded-glass Tudor style windows.
Elegant indoor seating is also available. Edgewaters terrace is the perfect spot to watch a fireworks display and/or the nightly illuminations.

This stately building was known as the Refectory
when built in 1904. Modeled after a Swiss
chalet, with a distinctive copper roof, boulder
stones that had lain under the rushing Niagara
River for 12,000 years were salvaged for the
walls of the building. In the early days the
building featured an open picnic area and in
1921 even a popular dance hall was opened.
A serene setting offering a breathtaking
view of the Niagara River and scenic vine-
yards from the elegant dining room, the

Chippawa Battlefieldhistory
Adjacent to the Legends on the Niagara golf
complex, Niagara Parks has preserved a 250-
acre site of the Battle of Chippawa. Fought on
July 5, 1814, the Battle cost the lives of approx-
imately 200 American, British, Canadian and
allied warriors, most of whom are buried at the
battle site. Due to a shortage of cloth at the
time, the American force wore grey uniforms
instead of the usual blue. To this day, West
Point cadets wear grey uniforms to honour
those who fought in this battle.
Ranked as one of the top public golf
courses in Canada, the Whirlpool Public
Golf course is located against the backdrop
of the Niagara River whirlpool and gorge.

course. The ideal location for tournament
events.
