REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM

Remote Vehicle Start System(if equipped)

The features of the Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) transmitter include:

(Remote Start) (if equipped): Thisfeature can be used to start the engine.(See Remote Vehicle Start System.)

(Lock): Press this button to lock allthe doors. The interior lamps will turnoff after a short delay once all doors areclosed. If enabled through the DriverInformation Center (DIC), the parkinglamps will flash once and/or the hornwill chirp to indicate locking hasoccurred.

(Unlock): Press this button to unlockthe driver’s door. If the button is pressedagain within five seconds, all remainingdoors will unlock. The interior lampswill illuminate and remain on for 10seconds or until the ignition is turnedon. If enabled through the DIC, the park-ing lamps will flash twice and the hornwill chirp twice to indicate unlockinghas occurred.

(Trunk Release): The trunkwill unlatch when this button on thetransmitter is pressed and held forapproximately one second. You canopen the trunk with the transmitterwhen the vehicle is stationary. The trunk may also be opened using theTrunk Release button located on the driver-side door.

(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm):Press and hold this button for approxi-mately one second to locate your vehicle. The horn will sound three timesand the headlamps and parking lampswill flash three times.To sound the panic alarm, press andhold the button for three seconds. Thehorn will sound and the headlamps andparking lamps will flash for two min-utes. Press the button again to cancelthe panic alarm.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Remote Keyless Entry

This feature allows you to start theengine from outside the vehicle byusing the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter. The remote start capabilitymust be turned on using the DriverInformation Center. (See the DriverInformation Center section.)During a remote start, the manual climate control system will operate atits last setting before the vehicle wasturned off. With automatic climate control (if equipped), the system willdefault to a heating or cooling modebased on outside temperature.

Canceling a Remote StartTo turn off the engine instead of drivingafter a remote start, do any of the following:• Press and hold the (Remote

Start) button until the parking lampsturn off.

• Press and release the HazardWarning Flashers button. Press itagain to turn off the flashers.

• Turn the key in the ignition switch tothe On position and then off.

REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM

Starting the Vehicle1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the

vehicle. (Transmitter range is withinapproximately 200 feet of the vehicle.)

2. Press and release the (Lock) button on the transmitter.

3. Immediately press and hold the (Remote Start) button for about fourseconds. When the vehicle starts,the parking lamps will light andremain on while the engine is running. The engine will continuerunning for 10 minutes.

4. Repeat these steps for a 10-minutetime extension. Only two consecu-tive remote starts are allowed.

When you enter the vehicle after aremote start, the ignition must beturned to the On position before driving.

Note: The Remote Vehicle Start featurewill not operate if the key is in the ignition,the hood is open, or the Check Enginelight is illuminated on the instrumentpanel cluster.

Note: Instructions for the Remote VehicleStart System are provided on a tag thatcan be attached to your vehicle’s keychain.

The power seat can be adjusted up ordown using the power height adjusterlocated on the outboard side of the driver’s seat. The seat can be manuallyadjusted forward or rearward.Move the Seat Forward orRearward• Lift and hold the bar under the front

of the seat to manually slide theseat.

Raise or Lower the Entire Seat• Press and hold the height adjuster

control up or down.

Raise or Lower the Front or Rear ofthe Seat Cushion (if equipped)The 6-way power seat also featuresseat cushion adjustment.• Press and hold the front or rear of

the control up or down.

RKE Transmitter BatteryReplacement

Under normal use, the battery in yourRemote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmittershould last about two years. You cantell the battery is weak if the transmit-ter won’t work at the normal range inany location. If you have to get close toyour vehicle before the transmitterworks, it’s probably time to change thebattery. Your Driver Information Centerwill also advise you when the battery isbecoming weak.Replace the Battery1. Use a flat, thin object to separate

the bottom half from the top half of the transmitter.

2. Remove the battery and replace it with a new one. Make sure the positive side of the battery faces up.

3. Put the two halves back together. Make sure they are tightly secured.

See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Note: When replacing the battery, use one3-volt CR2032 or equivalent battery. Usecare not to touch any of the transmittercircuitry. Static from your body transferredto these surfaces may damage thetransmitter.

Heated Seat Controls (if equipped)The heated front seat controls are locat-ed on the outboard corner of the driverand front passenger seats. The seatshave a high and low heat setting.

High Setting• Press the top of the switch ( ) once

to turn on the heated seat. It willheat to the high setting (indicatorlight number 2).

Low Setting• Press the top of the switch ( ) twice

to turn on the seat to the low setting(indicator light number 1).

Off• Press the bottom of the switch ( )

to turn the heated seat off.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Adjust the lumbar support using themanual lumbar handle (A) located onthe outboard side of the driver’s seat-back. Ratchet the handle down toincrease support and up to decreasesupport. You may need to ratchet thehandle several times for the desiredamount of support.

Adjust the seatback position by pullingup the recliner handle (B) and adjustingthe seatback forward or rearward.Release the handle to secure the seat-back in place.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Adjusting Lumbar Support and Seatback Position

Easy Entry Seat (if equipped)Coupe and convertible models featurean easy entry front passenger seat thatmakes it easier to get in and out of therear seat.

To use the easy entry seat, pull back onthe top of the recliner lever and slidethe seat forward. After the passengerenters the rear seat area, move theseat rearward until it locks in placeand adjust the seat to a comfortableposition. Make sure both the seat andseatback are locked.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Power MirrorsThe power outsiderearview mirrors canbe adjusted usingthe controls locatedon the driver’s door.Use the bottomswitch to selectthe driver-side or

passenger-side mirror; and then use thecontrol pad to adjust the selected mirrorup, down or side to side. The mirror willmove only when the control pad is inthe 12, 3, 6 or 9 o’clock position. Movethe selector switch to the center posi-tion when not adjusting either mirror.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Shoulder Belt Height Adjuster(sedan only)

The shoulder belt can be adjusted tothe height that is right for you. Push theRelease button up or down to move theheight adjuster. Once in a comfortableposition, try to move the height adjusterto make sure it is locked in place.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Adjusting the Steering WheelTo adjust the position of the steeringwheel:1. Push down the lever located on the

left side of the steering column.2. Move the wheel up to a centered

position or higher to telescope itin or out.

3. Tilt the wheel up or down to a comfortable position.

4. Pull the lever all the way up to lockthe wheel in place.

While most of the common features onyour radio operate in a familiar manner,some of the following are new. Basicfeatures include:

(Power/Volume): Press this knob toturn the system on or off. Turn the knobto adjust the volume.

(Tune): Turn this knob to selectradio stations or, when a CD is playing,to select a track or MP3 file.

(Information): Press this button todisplay additional information related tothe current FM-RDS or XM station, orMP3 file.Tone and Speaker Control: Pressthe (Tune) knob to adjust the tonecontrol (bass/treble) or speaker control(balance/fade) setting. Turn the knobor press the SEEK, FWD or REV buttonto adjust the selected setting.FAV (Favorite): Press this button to gothrough up to six pages of any combina-tion (AM, FM or XM) of preset favoriteradio stations. On each page, up to sixstations are available by using the sixpushbuttons below the radio display.BAND: Press this button to switch toFM, AM or XM. When playing a CD orportable audio device, press this buttonto play the radio instead.

AUDIO SYSTEM FEATURES

Audio System CD/AUX: Press this button to play a CDinstead of the radio. Press again andthe system will automatically search fora portable audio device connected tothe auxiliary input jack.EQ (Equalization): Press this button toselect preset equalization settings.CAT (Category): Press this button tofind XM stations within a desired category.Auxiliary Input Jack: A portableaudio device (such as an iPod® orMP3 player) can be connected to theauxiliary input jack located on the radio.Press the CD/AUX button to begin playing audio from the portable deviceover the vehicle speakers. To optimizespeaker volume, fully increase the volume level of the portable device.Using the USB Port (if equipped)The USB port is located on the frontof the radio. A connected USB storagedevice or an iPod® can be controlledusing the radio buttons and knobs.The iPod music will appear on the radio display and begin playing automatically.For more information, please refer toyour Owner Manual. Radio Data SystemWhen you tune to a Radio Data System(RDS) station, the station name or callletters will appear on the displayinstead of the frequency. Dependingon the RDS station, additional textinformation may be available by press-ing the (Information) button.RDS features are available for use onlyon FM stations that broadcast RDSinformation. RDS relies on receivingspecific information from these stationsand will work only when the informa-tion is available.

Setting Favorite StationsBefore setting your favorite stations,shift the vehicle into Park.

You can set up to six pages of any combination (AM, FM or XM) of favoriteradio stations, with up to six stationsstored on each page.To set the number of favorite stationpages:1. Press the MENU button to display

the radio setup menu.2. Press the pushbutton below the FAV

1–6 label on the radio display.3. Select the desired number of

favorite station pages.4. Press the FAV button. You may now

begin storing your favorite stationsfor the chosen number of pages.

Note: Engaging in extended searching forspecific audio stations or songs by usingbuttons and knobs — or giving extendedattention to entertainment tasks — canlead you to look away from the roadfrequently or for prolonged periods, whichmay cause you to miss seeing things onthe road that you need to see. Avoidengaging in extended searching forspecific items while driving.

To store favorite stations:1. Tune in the desired radio station.2. Press the FAV button to display the

page where the station is to bestored.

3. Press and hold one of the six push-buttons until a beep sounds to storethe station.

4. Repeat the steps for each push -button on each page.

Setting the TimeTo set the time:1. Turn on the radio.2. Press the (Clock) button. Or,

if equipped, press the MENU buttonuntil the clock option is displayed;and then press the pushbuttonlocated under the clock option label.The HR, MIN, MM, DD, YYYY labelswill appear on the display.

3. Press the pushbutton under any ofthe labels to be changed.

4. Press the pushbutton again, theright SEEK arrow or the FWD buttonto increase the numbers. Press theleft SEEK arrow or the REV button todecrease the numbers. Rotating the

(Tune) knob also will increase ordecrease the numbers of the select-ed label.

5. Press the Clock or MENU buttonagain to set the currently displayedtime and date.

Driver Information Center

The Driver Information Center (DIC) provides vehicle information, vehiclefeature customization and vehicle warning messages. The DIC messagesare shown on the instrument panel cluster display.

To access DIC features, use the follow-ing two buttons located on the left sideof the steering wheel:INFO: Press this button to display thefollowing vehicle information:• Outside Temperature and Odometer• Trip Odometers• Fuel Range• Average Fuel Economy• Instantaneous Fuel Economy

• Average Speed• Oil Life• Tire Pressures

(Reset): Press this button to setor reset DIC information while it is displayed or to acknowledge a warningmessage.

Vehicle Feature CustomizationA variety of your vehicle’s features canbe customized to your preference. Tocustomize features:1. With the vehicle in Park, turn on

the ignition. (Access to the cus-tomization features, except for Units,is not available while the vehicle ismoving.)

2. Press and hold both the INFO buttonand the (Reset) button to enterthe customization menu.

3. Press the INFO button to scrollthrough the available customizationfeatures.

4. With the desired feature displayed,press the (Reset) button forone second to scroll through eachsetting.

5. With the desired setting displayed,press the INFO button to record yourchoice and move on to the next feature.

6. To exit the customization menu,press the INFO button until the endof the menu is reached.

Note: System may require use of at leastone tank of fuel to correctly reportAverage Fuel Economy and AverageSpeed.

Warnings and MessagesThe DIC provides a variety of vehiclewarning messages (depending onoptional equipment) if a problem issensed in a vehicle system. To acknowl-edge a message and clear it from thedisplay, press the (Reset) button.Some urgent messages cannot becleared from the DIC display. If you have a current OnStar subscrip-tion, and a warning message appears,you can press the OnStar button andspeak to an OnStar Advisor. In manyvehicles, OnStar Advisors can accesscertain diagnostic information and cantell you how serious the problem is andwhat you should do about it.

You can enjoy the sporty driving characteristics provided by a manualtransmission with the Driver ShiftControl or TAPshift feature (if equipped). To shift gears similar to a manual transmission:1. Move the shift lever to Manual (M).2. With the Driver Shift Control, move

the shift lever forward to upshift orrearward to downshift. With TAPshift, press either of theshift plus (+) paddles (A) located ontop of the steering wheel away fromyou to upshift, or press the back ofeither of the shift paddles (B) behindthe steering wheel toward you todownshift.

When one or more of the drive wheelsbegin to spin from traction loss, theTraction Control system will reduceengine power and may apply the frontbrakes and shift the transmission tohelp regain traction.To limit wheelspin and help maintaindirectional control, you should alwaysleave the system on. However, if yourvehicle becomes stuck in snow or mudand rocking the vehicle is required, thesystem should be turned off.• To turn off the Traction Control sys-

tem, press the (Traction Control)button located on the center consolein front of the shift lever.

When the system is turned off, theTraction Control light will illuminate inthe instrument panel cluster.See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.

Traction Control

The Driver Information Center (DIC) inthe instrument panel cluster will dis-play the letter M for manual positionand a number indicating the selectedgear.While using either feature, the trans-mission will have firmer shifting andsportier performance. The transmissionwill allow you to shift only into gearsappropriate for the vehicle speed andengine revolutions per minute (rpm).If the vehicle slows almost to a stop,an automatic downshift will occur.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

CONVENIENCE FEATURES

The speed-sensitive wipers lever islocated to the right of the steering column. The wipers include the following settings:

(Intermittent): Move the lever upto this position to have the wipersadjust with your vehicle speed. Rotatethe speed-sensitive wiper control on thelever to increase or decrease the wiperdelay.

(Low): Move the lever up to thisposition to turn the wipers on Low.

(High): Move the lever up to thisposition to turn the wipers on High.

(Mist): Move the lever down to thisposition to turn the wipers on for onewipe.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Speed-Sensitive Wipers

Cruise ControlAutomatic Door LocksFor your safety, your vehicle is pro-grammed at the factory to lock alldoors automatically when all doors areclosed, the ignition is on and the shiftlever is moved out of Park (automatictransmission) or above a set speed(manual transmission).This feature cannot be disabled; youcan personalize the unlock features byusing the Driver Information Center.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

(Outside Air): Press this buttonto allow outside air to enter the vehicle.Airflow Mode: Turn the airflow modecontrol knob (C) to change the directionof the airflow to the vent, bi-level,floor, defog or defrost mode.

(Defog): Select this mode to directair to the windshield, side window out-lets and floor outlets.

(Defrost): Select this mode todirect most of the air to the windshieldand some air to the side window outlets and floor outlets.

(Rear Window Defogger): Pressthis button to activate the rear windowdefogger and the heated outsiderearview mirrors (if equipped). Thedefogger and heated mirrors will turnoff automatically or can be turned offby pressing the button again.Automatic Climate ControlOperation (if equipped)The automatic climate control systemadjusts the airflow mode, fan speed,air conditioning and recirculation func-tions to reach the set temperature asquickly as possible.To set the automatic system:1. Turn the fan control knob (A) and the

airflow mode control knob (C) to theAUTO position.

2. Set the temperature. Allow time forthe system to reach the desiredtemperature.

Climate Controls

Your vehicle may have a manual climatecontrol system or the available auto-matic climate control system. Both systems include the following functions:

(Fan): Turn the fan control knob (A)to increase or decrease the fan speed.

(Off): Turn the fan control knob tothe Off position to turn off the system.Only the rear defogger will operatewhen the system is off.Temperature Control: Turn the temperature control knob or press thetemperature control buttons (B) (ifequipped) to raise or lower the temper-ature setting.

(Air Conditioning): Press this button to turn the air conditioning system on or off.

(Recirculation): Press this buttonto recirculate air inside the vehicle. Thismode helps heat or cool the vehiclemore quickly and prevents outside airand odors from entering the vehicle. The recirculation mode will not operatewhen the airflow control knob is in theDefog or Defrost mode.

AUTO: Automatic HeadlampSystem: Automatically turns onDaytime Running Lamps (DRLs) in thedaytime, and headlamps, parkinglamps and taillamps at dusk or whennecessary.

(Off): When operating in the AUTOposition, a momentary turn of the lampcontrol switch to the Off position willturn off the automatic headlamps andall of the exterior lights. The DIC willdisplay an Automatic Lights Off mes-sage. To activate the AutomaticHeadlamp System, turn the switchagain. The Automatic Headlamp Systemis always turned on when the vehicle isstarted.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Automatic Headlamp SystemThe Automatic Headlamp System turnson the Daytime Running Lamps in thedaytime, and the headlamps and otherexterior lamps at night or when neces-sary. There is a short delay before thesystem switches on or off when drivinginto or out of a garage or tunnel.The headlamps also will turn on ifthe wipers are on for more than 15 seconds.The system uses a light sensor, locatedon top of the instrument panel, to determine light conditions. For properoperation, avoid placing any objects onor near the sensor, such as with aninstrument panel cover.Exterior Lamp Control SwitchThe exterior lamp control switch islocated on the lever to the left of thesteering column. The switch can berotated to each of the following fourpositions:

(Headlamps): Turns on the head-lamps, parking lamps and taillamps.

(Parking Lamps): Turns on parkinglamps and taillamps only.

Retractable Hardtop Convertible (if equipped)

• Make sure any item stowed in thetrunk fits beneath the cargo cover.

• Make sure nothing is on top or infront of the cargo cover in the trunk.

If an item cannot be stowed withoutcontacting the cargo cover, do notoperate the retractable hardtop ordamage may occur.

Lower or Raise the HardtopThe switch to operate the retractablehardtop is located on the headlinerbetween the front reading lamps. • Press and hold the switch rearward

to lower the hardtop and forward toraise the hardtop.

Always fully open or close the hardtopby holding the switch until the cycle iscomplete and a chime sounds. To auto-matically close the windows, continueto hold the switch for two seconds afterthe cycle is complete.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

60/40 Split Rear Seat The split-folding rear seatback permitsloading of longer items from the trunk.Folding the Seatback1. Open the trunk and locate the gray

handles on the upper side of thetrunk opening.

2. Position your hand over the top ofone or both of the handles and pulltoward you. The left handle opensthe larger seatback; the right handleopens the smaller side.

3. Push the seatback open through thetrunk or pull it open from inside thevehicle.

To return the seatback to an uprightposition, push it up until you hear aclick and then pull on the seatbackto make sure it is secure.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual. Window Indexing

(Coupe/Convertible only)To provide a tight seal around the doors,the window will automatically lowerslightly when the door is opened andthen automatically rise fully when thedoor is closed.Follow the Owner Manual procedurefor initializing the indexing featureif battery power is disconnected.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Before operating the hardtop:• The vehicle must be in Park, and

the engine must be running or theignition must be turned on.

• The trunk cargo cover must be fullyclosed, and the trunk must beclosed.

Note: With the hardtop lowered, the trunkcannot be opened. The trunk releasebuttons on the driver’s door and RemoteKeyless Entry transmitter will be disabled.

MAINTENANCE FEATURES

Securing the Fuel CapIf the Check Gas Cap message is displayed on the Driver InformationCenter when the ignition is turned toRun or Start, check that your fuel capis securely fastened. If the cap is notsecure, turn it clockwise until a clickingsound is heard, indicating that it isproperly installed.The Check Gas Cap message will turnoff after a few driving trips with the capproperly installed.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Resetting the Oil Life SystemThe Oil Life System calculates engineoil life based on vehicle use and displays CHANGE OIL SOON in theDriver Information Center (DIC) when it’snecessary to change your oil and filter.The Oil Life System should be reset to100% only following an oil change.To reset the Oil Life System:1. Turn on the ignition, with the engine

off.2. Press and hold both the INFO button

and the (Reset) button to accessthe customization menu.

3. OIL LIFE RESET will be displayed.4. Press and hold the (Reset)

button for at least one second. AnACKNOWLEDGED message willappear when the system is reset.

5. Turn off the ignition.See Section 5 of your Owner Manual.

Tire Pressure MonitorThe Tire Pressure Monitor alerts youwhen a significant reduction in pressureoccurs in one or more of your vehicle’stires by illuminating the (Low TirePressure) warning light on the instru-ment panel cluster. The low tire pres-sure warning light will remain on untilyou correct the tire pressure. A CHECKTIRE PRESSURE message will alsoappear on the Driver InformationCenter (DIC).• To view the tire pressures on the

DIC, press the INFO button until thecurrent tire pressures are displayed;left front (LF), for example, is the driver’s side front tire.

Correcting the Tire PressureWhen the low tire pressure warninglight illuminates, you must inflate thetire to the proper tire pressure (just asyou must refuel the vehicle when thelow fuel warning light illuminates). TheTire and Loading Information label,located on the center pillar below thedriver’s door latch, shows the correcttire pressure for the tires when they’recold. “Cold” means your vehicle hasbeen sitting for at least three hours ordriven no more than one mile.During cooler conditions, the low tirepressure warning light may appearwhen the vehicle is first started andthen turn off as you start to drive. Thiscould be an early indicator that yourtire pressures are getting low and thetires need to be inflated to the properpressure.

Note: The Tire Pressure Monitor can alertyou about low tire pressure, but it doesn’treplace normal monthly tire maintenance.
