Problem Statement

• Environmental issue and Cost Saving

• For Isolation mode wood consumption is 75000 CFT/annum.

• Dimensional Issues with the wood resulting in damage to Quality

• Unsafe to handle with splinters

Objective Set

• Reduction of wood consumption

• Reduce dependency on wood-anatural product

• Establish reverse logistics

• Saving of environment and costin long term.

Description of the InitiativeDescription of the Initiative

� Unitization of coils in isolation mode with poly saddles instead of wood item – A.

� Put Continuous efforts for 4 years to get approval from railways forevery 3 months . Finally we got final approval in June 2013 based on4 year successful arrival report in small scale.

� Destination covered – Faridabad, Boisar, Chennai, Nagpur

� Phase Completion Dates

� Measure: July, 2013

� Analyze: June, 2014

� Improve: Feb, 2015
