Satellite Navigation has a Positive Effect on Driving and Traffic Safety

In 2006 TomTom joined force with Delta Lloyds Insurance, AON Insurance & Risk Brokers, and Athlon Car Leasing to commission

an independent research project by TNO a leading researchagency in the Netherlands’

The study provided real proof of the value of TomTom and clearly demonstrates the positive impact on traffic safety!

key finding:• Drivers who do NOT have the use of a satellite navigation

solution have 12% more accidents claims reduction of insurance costs ...

• The use of a satellite navigation system heightens alertness, reduces stress levels and also improves the driver's behaviour.

• Workload is reduced by 20% when using a navigation system;

• When using a navigation system: 78% of people feel more in control, 68% less distracted, 67% feel less stressed; Improvement in driver's behavior & reducing stress level! Less driving faults, more customer orientation by the driver = improved service level!

• On average when using a TomTom Navigation system , mileage is reduced by 16% and driving time by 18% when using a navigation system. reduction of operational costs + increasing of efficiency
