Renting a vehicle is a matter of trust. As for the client, he is entrusting his life to the rental company, and the rental company on the other hand is entrusting its vehicle to the client. First thing that you must consider before renting a vehicle is “SAFETY.” It is

protect your self in case the rental agency would charge you for damages in the

vehicle. Another thing to be aware of is the “INSURANCE.” Check for the

coverage of your current insurance policy, if any, because it might cover car

rental. If you don’t have one, you can actually purchase one from the rental

company.

Accidents are inevitable and if one occurs with the rented car, reporting it would

be just the same as if it’s your own car except for some additions:

The incident must be reported to the police, at the same time, to the rental agency.

Help out the rental agency for information they might need.

Check for your personal car insurance, if any.

Do not do the settlement without the consent of the rental company.

In case you think that the rental company is in a way responsible for the

accident, you may file for a complaint. There are some things however that

must be presented in the complaint. First, that the company is into the business

of car rental, also, what is about the rental fee and how much is the total

payment. It must also be included in the complaint if the cause of accident is a

defect which is known to the rental agency, and which was discovered after the
