How to replace a tail light on a 2006 Subaru
Impreza 2.5 WagonBy Ryan Wiszniak
Materials Needed
• A 10MM socket wrench• Philips head screw driver• Rubbing alcohol and paper towel• Rubber gloves (optional)• Philips 7443B tail light bulb
Step 1
• Unscrew the outer screws on the plastic cover with screw driver.• Remove plastic cover and set
aside screws.
Step 2
• Using the socket wrench unscrew the bolts holding the tail light to the vehicle.• Place the 10MM bolts in a
safe spot so they will not get lost.
Step 3• Detatch the tail light
from the car. The lighting fixture will be still attached by wires connected to the car.• Be careful not to pull
off too hard so no wires are snapped.
Step 4• Find the compartment
where the bulb is located.• Gently unlock the housing
for the bulb and carefully remove out of the light housing
Step 5
• Remove the bulb from the packaging wearing rubber gloves to prevent oil from getting on the bulb.• If you do not have rubber gloves gently wipe the bulb with
rubbing alcohol.• This prevents the bulb from burning out due to oil on the
outter surface.• Pull out the old bulb from the tail light and replace it with
your new Philips 7443B tail light.• Place the old bulb in the packaging the dispose of it
responsibly.
Step 6
• Once the new bulb is in lock it back into the housing unit.• Put the tail light housing back in place on the vehicle.• Using the 10MM socket screw the bolts back in place, which
secures the tail light fixture to the car.• Screw the plastic cover back over the tail light.
Step 7• Test your tail light by tapping on
the breaks to make sure that your tail light is working properly.
