DESCRIPTION
Il progetto di ricerca si propone la sistematizzazione di sistemi e processi di infomobilità orientati al miglioramento e alla gestione della sicurezza stradale. Il progetto si svilupperà mediante la progettazione, realizzazione, sperimentazione e validazione di prototipi industriali e applicativi informatici finalizzati alla propagazione diffusa di informazioni agli utenti della stradafinalizzate a ridurre i rischi e gli impatti connessi alla mobilità. In particolare il progetto prevede la realizzazione di un software per personal device (basato sull’impiego di smartphone) utilizzabile su ogni tipo di veicolo stradale e anche da pedoni, capace di acquisire in automatico informazioni cinematiche e prestazionali del veicolo nonché, attraverso il comportamento attivo dell’utente informazioni relative alle caratteristiche funzionali dell’infrastruttura stradale e del traffico.

In order to consider the influence of each variable on the global level of risk, the following expression was used for the Risk Index calculation:
Where:• i is the class of event,• α is the weight assigned to each class of event, • x changes according to the number of occurrences of each type of event and it can assume the following values: 0.25 (first level), 0. 50 (second level), 1.0 (third level).

sources: Road surface anomalies and irregularities, Problems related to horizontal and vertical signals, Anomalies of roadsides and safety barriers.

App M2MRisk IndexThe proposed methodology was validated through a pilot study on a road test-site in province of Crotone (Calabria, south Italy). The values of the Risk Index estimated for some particular road segments were compared to the qualitative analysis obtained by a Road Safety Inspection of the same test site.
