Ferruccio Lamborghini

born in Italy in 1916

Fascinated with engines from

an early age

Joined the army during word

war II

became very much in demand

at fixing engines

setup a small car and motorcycle

repair shop

desperate need for tractors

build about one tractor a month

from derelict military vehicles

He began building his own tractor

engines

rate of over 400 a month in 1960

manufacturing heaters and air

conditioning units for buildings

disappointed with his cars engines

visit Enzo Ferrari and he dismissed him

Ferrari could not do better

The Lamborghini story is told rapidly : the others weren't

good enough

build his own car with a V12 engine

had 4 cams and 4 big bore valves per cylinder

The First Lamborghini Car

The Lamborghini "350 GTV" prototype was shown to the public on the Turin Auto Show of 1963

• Ferruccio Lamborghini died in February 1993

at the age of almost 76

On August 4 1998 Audi had an interest in Lamborghini
