ABOUT FLANGE MOUNT BEARING

Flange mount bearings are a form of bearing unit that supports heavy loads when the shaft axis is perpendicular to the mounting surface.

It is a rigid housing which allows the unit to rotate within a stable and carefully controlled environment. The housing is bolted to the foundation of the unit, and allows the outer ring to stay still while the inner ring is able to freely rotate.

Bearing life: It is also known as the rating life L10, a statistical measure of the life which 90% of a group of apparently identical ball bearings will achieve or exceed.

Bearing load: It is a combination of radial loads and thrust forces.

Basic dynamic: load rating. It is a calculated, constant radial load.

Engineering load: It describes the effect of reaction loads on the flange mount bearings.
