About Me
Bevan Chuang is a 1.5 generation Hong Kong Chinese New Zealander
and has a great understanding of both worlds. Been living in Auckland
since 1996, speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Read and
write Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Worked with various Government agencies, NGOs and
communities organisations, projects included:
Member of Ethnic Peoples Advisory Panel, Auckland Council – providing advice to Mayor and
the Council on issues related to the ethnic communities, business and diplomatic issues in
China and New Zealand, and policy developments.
Sponsorship Director for Hong Kong Festival – provide PR and communications, sponsorships
and relationships management, research, event development and management skills and
experience, Master of Ceremony to the annual Hong Kong Festival, which is attended by more
than 5,000 people and received Best Initiative Awards for 2010 and 2011.
Assist with the development of the annual Chinese New Year Festival and Market Day which
attracts more than 100,000, including PR and communications, sponsorships and
relationships management, event development and management, interpretations and Master
of Ceremony.
Assist with the development and planning of Taste of Japan in 2009 and 2010, an annual
event developed by the New Zealand Japan Society of Auckland.
Developed, planned, managed meeting between NZTE and Auckland based Chinese
businesses.
Viva Eklectica – a bi-annual dancing festival including PR and communications, event
development and management
Provide audience development advice to Creative New Zealand on young Asian Aucklanders.
