2016 Ram Laramie Limited•Ram is using 2015 as the year to break away from its Dodge roots

•Offered in 1500, 2500, and 3500 editions

•This second special edition Ram pickup, again, removes the traditional cross-hair grill in favor of the bold “RAM” imprint which is mirrored in larger letters on the tailgate

•All black leather interior, real argento wood, satin chrome, and 8.4” Uconnectinfotainment center along with the analog gauge/TFT cluster (with unique font) make the Limited distinct from the lesser models

•All new 20” wheels with 5-lug on 1500 and 6-lug on 2500/3500

•Available with a choice of powertrains including the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6

•Goes on sale in the US in the second quarter of 2015

2016 Ford Police Interceptor•Updated styling follows the previously introduced new Ford Explorer

•Power remains the 304hp 3.7L V6 or the 365hp 3.5L EcoBoostV6 mated to a 6-speed automatic and all-wheel drive

•Updated 6-speed transaxle includes a new “Pursuit Mode” that offers more aggressive downshifting•As a step up from the civilian version, the Police Interceptor includes reinforced subframe mounts, larger diameter suspension springs, larger cooling system, and heavy-duty brakes

•Cleaner exterior, including integrated police lights, and restyled console and steering wheel round out the new model

2016 Chevrolet Equinox•Facelifted mid-sized crossover designed to keep the model’s sales success going until the new model is ready in just under two years

•New LED daytime running lights illuminate the redesigned front end which features a new grille opening and bumper

•Dual exhausts (on V6 models), revised bumper, and new taillamps highlight the changes at the rear

•Power remains the 2.4L direct-injection four-cylinder and 301hp 3.6L V6 which can be equipped to tow up to 3,500 lbs

•In North America, the only Chevrolet model to outsell the Equinox is the Silverado full-sized pickup

•The new model will go on sale in the third quarter of 2015

2016 Acura RDX•Minor exterior update includes JewelEye LED headlamps to fall in line with the rest of the Acura models

•New 3.5L i-VTEC V6 with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) raises output by 6hp (to 279hp) and improves fuel economy to 19/28 for the all-wheel drive version and 20/29 for the front-driver•Inside, the update includes standard seat heaters and rear-seat air conditioning vents, available 8-way front passenger seat, dual-screen On-Demand Multi-Information Display (ODMD), blind spot information, and rear cross traffic monitor

2016 Honda Pilot and Ridgeline•Three-row, Eight-passenger crossover lost 300 lbs over the prior generation using high strength steel

•Power comes from Honda’s direct-injection 3.5L V6 joined to a 9-speed automatic powering the front or all four wheels

• Improved interior provides a more luxurious feel than the outgoing model

• Introduction included a preview of the new Honda Ridgeline pickup, showing a rendering sporting four doors, separate bed/body (unlike the 2014 unibody Ridgeline), and possibly a vertically-split tailgate

2015 Kia Trail’ster e-AWD Concept•Derived from the production Kia Soul

•Front wheels are powered by a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder generating 185hp while the rear wheels are propelled by a 35hp electric motor juiced by a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which can run electric, gas, or hybrid with an additional boost of torque

•Fully electric range is 2-3 miles under light power•Combined fuel economy is improved by 25-30% around town and 5-10% on the highway as compared to the production 2.0L Soul

•Starter-generator allows the engine to stop and start as needed and when the batteries aren’t being recharged

•A/C compressor is electrically driven and can operate with engine off

•Plug-in hybrid combines for 335hp and high fuel economy

•Mitsubishi’s latest MiEV technology combines 12kWh of lithium-ion batteries with plug-in capability and mobile charging through the gasoline engine

•Displays critical information in front of the driver on the AR (augmented reality) windshield

•Lacking a b-pillar, all four passengers have easy ingress and egress to seats front and rear
