Go way beyond your smartphone with these cool touch
WiFi enabled cameras, touchscreen cameras.
Instant Sharing from Your
DLSR?In the world of photography, you have Instagrammers,
selfie-superstars, and serious photographers with serious
cameras. Right?
Not So Much…
Thanks to the new crop of WiFi enabled cameras,
and WiFi adapters, you can take a great photo –
on a terrific camera – and share it wirelessly.
Here are a few cameras and accessories designed
for the way we shoot, and share, today.
Nikon Goes Wireless
There are a couple of ways
to take your Nikon DSLR
wireless.
1. Pick up the Nikon
Wireless Adapter, which
connects to your
camera and talks to
your smartphone.
2. Download Nikon’s
smartphone app,
Wireless Mobile Utility.
Or, skip Step 1 and pick up
the Nikon D5300, which is
wireless by nature.
Using Nikon’s Wireless Mobile
Utility
The Nikon smartphone app
is designed to be used with
your camera. With it, you
can upload photos you’ve
taken with your camera at
the touch of a button. You
can also control the camera
remotely from your
smartphone – pretty cool!
Olympus STYLUS 1 – WiFi with
Bells & Whistles
The Olympus STYLUS 1 is
a superstar in terms of
functionality. It’s wireless,
has a touch screen that
enables photographers to
easily access their settings,
and connects to a
smartphone app for easy
sharing.
Add to this the STYLUS’
5-axis image stabilization
and you’ve got one
serious camera.
Canon T5i
If you’re more of a Canonite,
you can still play in this pool.
The Canon T5i is wireless,
has a vari-angle touch
screen and a compatible
smart phone app.
So, Are We There Yet?
This first generation of WiFi enabled cameras are
great – but the smartphone apps, users say, can
be slow and clunky.
The good news is that the apps can be updated –
so you can get improved functionality without
having to buy a new camera.
