2. DESCRIPTIO N I attended the Friends & Lovers Tour. At
the Arena Theatre on November 8, 2014.
3. DESCRIPTION Featuring BJ the Kid, Musiq Soulchild, and
Marsha Ambrosius.
4. DESCRIPTION The artist belong to the Neo-Soul and R&B
genre.
5. DESCRIPTION The stage rotated clockwise and was shaped in a
circle. The seats did not flip up and had limited leg room
available to the audience.
6. ANALYSIS The first artist was BJ the Kid. His band consisted
of three band members playing a bass guitar, electric guitar, and a
drummer. The bass guitarist was excellent and done an impromptu
solo.
7. ANALYSIS The main point of emphasis was on the artist
entrance. Musiq had a lot of electrical issues from the first
moment on stage, which took away from the
8. ANALYSIS Marsha Ambrosius had emphasis on her entrance,. She
had smoke going on the stage and only had a drummer with her . The
volume level of her microphone was too loud.
9. INTERPRETATION I felt disappointed in the presentation of
the art. I did not feel the energy that most Neo-Soul art bring to
their live shows.
10. EVALUATION Musiq had too many people on the stage, and took
away from his stage presence.
11. EVALUATION Musiq was off key and pitch the whole night.
Maybe it was the sound in the arena, but they have sound checks
before shows. .BJ the Kid sung six songs and had great stage
presence.
12. EVALUATION The concert was terrible in my opinion, because
the sound was horrible and the seating is appalling. I couldnt get
comfortable in the seat all night, and had someone hit my head with
their knee.
13. EVALUATION The DJ changed the music selection during the
intermission. He played Twerking music and had people dancing in
the isles, which help me reach the decision to leave early.
