My Topic

I have chosen to base my final exhibition around macro

photography as I am most interested by this type. I think

that it is the most interesting field of photography as it

really allows the viewer of the photographs to interpret

them completely differently from one another.

Exhibition title

'Look a little closer'- This title was the best in my opinion

as it could help intrigue the audience before viewing the

photographs, it invites them to not only look at the photos

closely but suggests that they can form their own opinions

from them.

There was also a couple of other contending title names

but I feel that ‘Look a little closer’ will allow me to

interpret a unique, artistic twist on some of the photos

rather just basic macro photography.

Where will I take my photos?

I am planning on taking the majority of the outside of

school (at home) as it will allow me to set up the scenes

for most of my shots. But I could also use the resources

available in the art department, for example with the

feather shot I could borrow a peacock feather as they look

more aesthetically pleasing than for example an average

pigeon feather.

What is my inspiration?

The main inspiration for my final shoot will be

photographer David Gilliver, more specifically his ‘Little

People’ project as I really like how different it is from

other types of macro photography and how quirky the

relation between the figures and everyday objects are,

especially how he gets an artistic personality across.

Also I feel like photographer Ivan Nava will influence my

final exhibition as photos such as the small reptile featured

in task 2 are very breath taking. It shows the viewer the

sizing of the animal and this is emphasised by a blank

background.

How will I exhibit my images?

I will display my final 6 photos through a similar layout to

that of a collage over a black background to emphasize

each photo to the audience. I am planning on doing this as I

feel that simplicity is key with photography; if I try to over

complicate things it will distract to viewer from the photos.
