The misuse of language means that nowadays a person who uses big words in his conversation, is consider as a wise person.As in this story the Aileen’s mother Collie learnt some words from the daily life of humans. She goes to the gathering of the neighboring dogs and uses that words as a show off.

“ But, indeed, it was not real education; it was only show: she got the words by listening in the dining-room and drawing-room when there was company, and by going with the children to Sunday-school and listening there; and whenever she heard a large word she said it over to herself many times, and so was able to keep it until there was a dogmatic gathering in the neighborhood, then she would get it off, and surprise and distress them all, from pocket-pup to mastiff, which rewarded her for all her trouble.”

The scientific world is cruel and emotionless. It placing ethics and equity aside for the sake of progress. They consider logic and reason is more important then compassions and emotions of others.

In this story the master of the Aileen(dog) is a scientist named Gray. He wants to do an experiment that whether a little injury in the brain would causes blindness or not. For this experiment he takes the Puppy of Aileen.

“ They discussed and experimented, and then suddenly the puppy shrieked, and they set him on the floor, and he went staggering around, with his head all bloody, and the master clapped his hands and shouted:“There, I’ve won—confess it! He’s a blind as a bat!”And they all said:“It’s so—you’ve proved your theory, and suffering humanity owes you a great debt from henceforth, ”

The third theme of this story is the slavery. This story shows the miseries of the poor creatures especially the miseries of animals that puppet in the hands of man. As in this story the dog named Aileen and her puppy are puppet in the hands of Gray. Even Mr. Gray considerers himself the deity god of Aileen.

“Soon the master stopped discussing a moment, and rang in the footman, and said, “Bury it in the far corner of the garden,” and then went on with the discussion,”
