The reason we produced the special report is because we have

Nigerian are online.

strikes. Even though, the Teachers‟ Day is yearly observed, we can

only give the credit to the International Labour Organisation (ILO)

which has made it a standard for commemoration. Shall we talk

here of the cosmetic promises usually made on Teachers‟ Day by

government officials? No! Not now. Not here. You will also see that

the celebration of the Day and similar occasions never interpret to

better financial status for teachers!

You probably have asked too… Why teachers are so neglected by the

government? So mistreated in terms of being paid salaries that

match not with the load of work they do. It is the same story on the

part of managements of private schools. We recognize they are in

business, though.

Well, the neglects may not be surprising than seeing many teachers

themselves still remaining ignorant of turning their call to cash in

the part-time or after-school ways. Please forget making money

from the so called “lessons” or summer coaching or NECO or WAEC

short-time jobs here… Or selling stationeries to pupils or students…
