Utility Service Group is now SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions.

We are the North American leader in rehabilitation and asset maintenance for municipal and industrial water systems. Our sustainable and comprehensive Asset Maintenance Programs help water utilities manage costs, smooth utility operations from source to tap, maximize water quality for billable customers and deliver freedom and peace of mind.

Leading the market with smarter ways to maintain customer assets, our Asset Maintenance Programs cover water wells, tanks, concrete water assets, filters, meters and distribution networks.

History

1963: Utility Service Group (USG) founded in Madison, North Carolina.1985: Launched the Tank Asset Maintenance Program.2000: Established the Communications/Site Management Division.2007: Introduced WaterMix.2008: Acquired by SUEZ Environnement (SUEZ), in Paris, France.2011: Launched Water Quality Services, including Ice Pigging and Trihalomethane (THM) Removal Systems.2012: Launched Smart Metering, Well Maintenance and Helium Leak Detection.

USG became an attractive player in the water utility market for having pioneered the one-of-a-kind Asset Maintenance Program, and SUEZ was quick to spot the potential. And so the 2008 acquisition of USG by SUEZ became a pivotal milestone in the history of our company. Ambitious to launch its services into North America, SUEZ offered the financial heft and backing of a €15 billion multinational resource management powerhouse along with all the diverse expertise of its many companies. USG in turn contributed a foothold in North America with its spreading market share comprised of a new and emergent type of customer for the Asset Maintenance Program, plus its tenacious growth still ongoing.

Here a synergy emerged, and in March of 2015 USG became SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions.

Solutions

SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions services the entire delivery chain of water and wastewater assets along a water utility - from source to tap. Our Asset Maintenance Programs cover water wells, tanks, concrete water assets, filters, meters and distribution networks. These programs transfer the risk from our customers having to periodically inspect, report, repair, document, maintain, or replace their assets, thereby controlling costs and allowing predictable budgeting and planning for the customer. Once the contract is ratified, SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions begins work to refurbish and update the covered asset(s) and subsequently maintain peak condition indefinitely. Ideally, customers can combine several such programs covering diverse assets along the delivery chain of their water utility, thereby subduing their costs, maintaining water quality, and streamlining their utility operations.

Outside of the standard Maintenance Program, SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions also offers supplementary technologies to further enhance water quality and system efficiency. These innovative technologies include ice pigging, helium leak detection, tank mixing and THM removal systems.

Markets Served

SUEZ Water Advanced Solutions is active throughout the entire Continental United States. We hold several operational centers designated to cover large territorial reaches and support regional sales teams active in all states within the Continental United States.

Our primary customers include counties, municipalities and local water authorities, with a special emphasis on smaller, local communities struggling to meet the challenges of modernizing technology, erratic costs, customer complaints and aging infrastructure.

Currently, the overwhelming majority of our customers (83%) are under contract for some form of the Asset Maintenance Program and they remain loyal with high retention rates upon renewal. Yet amid our target market of water utilities serving < 50,000 customers, we hold a mere 5.5% of the total market share. This convergence of customer satisfaction, steadfast retention and untapped markets points to enormous, sustainable growth potential in the coming years.
