Introduction - ConfessionMy name is Morris Maraya    (also known as MoMo, Morris the spider, nigga morrese, and Borris Maraha) And I am very lucky to have spent my time as a Sweetwater Red Devil

I have learned, fought, danced, skated, sing, laughed, cried, joked, seen, rushed, lost, despaired, rocked, played, let down, ventured, honored, whooped, crammed, choked, smiled, rescued, prayed, tried, worked, opened, chilled, hang, exhausted, liked, patched, tricked, dropped, broadened, procrastinated, realized, felt, gave up, been rejected, and most of all, loved.

Freshmen Year

 - I was a beast skater - Music in Motion was so much FUN - Mr.s Hall was always nagging and telling us to shut up, but I knew deep down that she loved us - The Christmas Songs I did in choir: Sleigh bells - I was a beast at handball - This was also the year I met JP, my best friend - We would always rush to his house to play Guitar Hero and COD4 - This was also the year when I nearly always skated everywhere, anytime, including at night with my fellow skaters

Paper ball and Rock monster. Yep, that pretty much sums up my entire Freshmen year along with music in motion and skating. I guess i'll start by saying that my classes were fun and easy. Accelerated English with Mr.Vedborg consisted of messing around and listening to him saying "I'm just trying to make this simple guys." Bio with Mrs. Carmody was equally as fun due to my  best friend Jobell, who has always played around, joked, and pulled pranks. One day we drew this weird grotesque rock monster and hid it under Mrs. Carmody's desk, and to this day I still think it lives there.  Now Music in Motion, my advanced choir class, was were I learned to do something when there was nothing to do.

Sophomore - Quit skating - Joined ROTC - Performed on T.V. - Fought a Hobo/Gangster - Lost my Angel - Visited the holocaust museum - Rescued baby chicks in roof of Mr. Garnica's class - My sister Kim left for UCSD - Izzy was Born!!!!!!!!!!!!! - WDOG

This is the year where I decided to take school a bit more seriously. I quit skating and focused more of my time with doing homework, and spent the rest of my time at the beach with JP. The girl I liked found a better version of me, so I took up martial arts and weight lifting. My afternoons were committed to many hours of COD4, in which I learned how to drop-shot. And,  this practically made up my Sophomore year. During one of my random travels to downtown, I've successfully fended off an armed Hobo/Gangster and in Mr. Garnica's, rescued a couple of baby chicks in the ceiling. I've visited the Holocaust museum with Ms. Robledo and performed on a news channel with my advanced show choir. This is the year where I became the nerd, the skater, and the gamer.

Junior

 - Broadened my mind - Pushed myself to the limits - Played Tennis - Joined Swim - Lost my Angel - MW2 - UCSD Summer Summit - Got driving permit with friends - Went to New York W/ Decathlon(learned to pillow fight)

Make me or Break me. That sentence perfectly symbolizes my junior year. It was the first time I have ever took anything as academically rigorous, and I've learned so much from it. It was also a time where I simultaneous tested how far I can go mentally and physically, as having three AP classes and playing two sports, all at the same time, almost killed me. By the way, I've had to fill the void in my heart with something, else I'd go crazy or suicidal. This was also the year I started playing hacky sack, and have kept playing ever since. Overall, I became the master of my destiny.

Senior - Participated in Link Crew - Learned Psychology - Got Drivers License - Traveled to Santee for Sonic's and a little hike - Broke bed in Moore's Furniture store with best friends - Lost my Sunshine - Played Roller Hockey and won against Mar Vista - Went to Prom

It's strange that I can barely remember what happened to me during my senior year. It went by quickly. I continued to take challenging classes and realized I shouldn't, so the I could enjoy my year better. Roller Hockey was one of the funnest activities I've ever done in my life, and it makes it that much more meaningful when we "technically" won the banner. Tennis and Swim were the same, yet I gained new friends along the way. Prom was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It was my classes that defined my character, my friends who defined my personality, and my loves that defined my being. I have changed so much since my freshmen year, and now I just feel like floatin.

                                                    Family

 - My mom has been a leading example in my life - Sisters:        (Youngest Sis) Jessie has always been the baby in the family, and now that i think about it...she's a bit weird. However, I still love her.         (Middle Sis) Kim is strong and takes the initiative, which is something that I've learned from her, and she takes good, care of me. She was my role model.        (Oldest Sis) Joan has taken care of all of us, and has always looked out for me. I can't thank her enough.

Monologue:

I hate it when they treat me like I'm some naive kid who doesn't know anything.  I guess they care for me, although they make fun of me whenever they get the chance. Heck, they are so full of themselves sometimes. Well... Hmm, maybe I do love my family... no, I definitely do.

EducationAP classes

 - AP World History...was fun - AP U.S. History...was interesting - AP U.S. Government...was intriguing - AP Calculus... was very hard - AP Chemistry...was impossible - AP English Composition...was enlightening - AP English Literature...was refreshing - AP Psychology...was great

Reflective Essay:    I guess I took such hard classes just to see if I could really do them, not for the prestige or the college credit. Yet, I'm so glad that I took such challenging classes because now I have the education and ability to face the world. It was not hard, to tell the truth, but the only thing that kept me away from having a godlike transcript would be my laziness. However, not all has been in vain.                                                         My greatest achievement concerning my educational career would be getting accepted into UCSD, just like my sister before me. Even though I'll be joining the navy, getting accepted into a good college leaves me feeling triumphant, that I had the skills and abilities of attending a nice college. And yet... I feel that college isn't for me. With my education, I just want to save the world and do something meaningful in my life.

Teachers - Mr. Jimenez: Was fun and awesome;reminds me of Erick Foreman - Mr. Hitchcock:A true scientist, he always tried his best to teach us - Mrs. Rose: She is awesome and funny, and taught me so much - Mrs. Hall: One of the greatest teachers of all time, rock out - Mrs. Garcia: Has always taken good care of me, she's great - Mr. Arreoloa: Challenged me to my limits, no pun intended - Mrs. Carmody: Always upbeat and happy everyday - Mr. Vedborg: He the best permanent substitute ever

Letter to teacher Dear Mr. Hitchcock,

You have shown me one can be brilliant at something, and still suck at teaching. It wasn't entirely horrible, you knew absolutely what you were doing, it was just how you tried to explain it that drove me crazy. The book didn't make sense, you didn't make sense, so then I couldn't make any sense at all. Then I learned to learn on my own, which is what you have taught me. I'm grateful that I gained such an important ability in such an environment. However, the class was still fun and you still tried to teach us something, and that is all that matters to me.                                      Sincerely,

                                           Morris Maraya

The Future - Villanelle Forever I will serve and protect youStanding up against the odds of failureSo sail, heading toward that setting sun

For those who need saving, just believeNot in thy nation, nor the people thereForever i will serve and protect you

It is and so, forever and achieveThe pride of guiding my starry sky's fare So sail, heading toward that setting sun

Fighting all and any is what I conceiveAnd this folly hinders me like a nightmareForever I will serve and protect you

Fly into the haven I set so free And know that my wishes will float somewhere So sail, heading toward that setting sun

Deep in thought I hope in vain to perceive What I've done will lift you high in the airForever I will serve and protect youSo sail, heading toward that rising sun

I'm joining the Navy as a Nuclear Engineer and hope to learn about nuclear mechanics. Later on, I'll get my college degree through the STA21 program to become an officer. I will then apply to become a Navy SEAL, and protect and serve. As for afterwards, maybe I'll join the CIA for a desk job.
