Aidan Rafferty studied Architecture at D.I.T. Bolton Street, and worked for 6 years in the Architecture & Construction Industry. During this time Aidan developed an extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D Visualization systems. This led to lead roles in drawing production and data management, including hardware and software installations and network set-up.

Aidan worked as AutoCAD systems manager for Project Architects, and later with Fionnula Rogerson Architects.In 2003 Aidan completed a Diploma in Music Technology & Sound Engineering and subsequently set-up RDG Studios in Dublin. This acted as a commercial recording studio for 5 years, during which time Aidan gained extensive knowledge of music and media production. Aidan also works as editor and Sound Engineer for Bodhran Films, producing documenrtariesand short films for web and radio.

Aidan currently works as Technical Director of ziggi, and works regularly with a range of technologies including: HTML / CSS / Javascript / Actionscript / mySQL / PHP.Aidan has worked on a broad range of projects including:Native App development for iOs and Android / Web-site design and deployment / Web optimization including Mobile Optimization.Apps include: National Botanic Gardens of Ireland / SignBasic Sign Language App.Web development includes: Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists.

Aidan has been CEO for over 7 years. Recently we released our own online mobile app builder called www.zapplab.netwhich allows users to create affordable mobile apps without coding. During this project we worked with two Universities, several private companies, Enterprise Ireland, County Enterprise Board and Invest NI.

Before this Aidan worked as Marketing & Product Development Manager for the 400th anniversary of the Flight of The Earls which had over 60 events in several countries culminating in a 10 day festival celebrating Irish arts and culture.

He has many years experience in a public communications role in Ireland and London. As Communications Manager for New Deal for Communities in London he worked with over 80 organisations and societies. Working closely with artists and local groups he tackled social issues in one of London’s most diverse and deprived areas, New Cross Gate and commissioned several photography exhibitions on the changing landscape and faces of SE London. During this time he lectured at Goldsmith University on effective communication in diverse communities.

On a voluntary basis he became Public Relations Officer for the Afghan & Central Asian Association of London under the guidance of Director, Dr Nooralhaq Nasimi, organising cultural events around the city.Aidan was a member of NUIJ for several years working freelance for national and regional press and radio.
