COMPANY PROFILE

In 1986 Racine Berkow founded RBA to apply museum quality standards to the

shipping and handling of fine arts and antiques. RBA continues this

commitment and applies it to the transport of objects ranging from

monumental Henry Moore sculptures to priceless world treasures such as

the Dead Sea Scrolls.

RBA is a member of the prestigious trade association, ICEFAT, and has

been since 1987.

We are licensed international freight forwarders (IATA). Through our network of worldwide and domestic agents, we can coordinate your art shipments anywhere, whether by air, land or sea.

Customs Brokerage

As licensed customs brokers, we are fully bonded to handle your imports into the United States. We collect and deliver inbound shipments and handle all US Customs formalities, including the clearance of hand-carried objects. We are set up to clear customs electronically at any port in the United States.

We prepare in-house all documentation or licensing

connected with international shipments.

Airport Security and Supervision

RBA participates in the I.D. Program for the Port Authority of New York. This program allows us to have access to secured areas of the Airport so

that we can supervise the proper handling of your fine art cargo.

Customized Packing and Crating

Your objects must be handled with care, from soft wrap to final crating. Each shipment comes with its own special requirements, and we make certain that

your objects are packed and crated according to pre-determined specifications in our own crate shop. Through our network of agents, we offer

fine art storage and handling services worldwide.

RBA’s Long Island City location is a TSA Certified

Screening Facility.

We also offer on-site long term or interim storage in

a secure, climate- and humidity-controlled

environment. Through our network of agents, we will

use only the most appropriate warehouses for

your objects.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal

Marking the 25th anniversary of the death of Andy Warhol, The Warhol Museum mounted the largest touring collection to date of the artist’s works. The exhibition traveled to five cities in Asia including two in China.RBA was intricately involved in the planning and logistics of this project and coordinated the shipping between all the venues.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

RETURN OF THE TREASURE OF “NUESTRA SENORA DE LA MERCEDES”

RBA assisted with the transportation, inventorying, and packaging of 17 tons of gold and silver coins. The repatriation project involved the secure transport of the cargo from an undisclosed location to a US Air Force base in Florida. The cargo was then repatriated to Spain by the Spanish Air Force in a highly publicized departure.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Inspired by Dunhuang: Re-Creation in Contemporary Chinese Art

This exhibition showcased how the murals and sculptures in Dunhuang influenced 20th and 21st century Chinese artists. RBA imported, transported, unpacked, and brought all elements of this project honoring the cave shrines at Dunhuang into the gallery space. The works traveled from China and Taiwan to New York City.

Daniel Hauben: A Sense of Place

Bronx Artist Daniel Hauben was commissioned to create original artwork for the new facilities at the campus of Bronx Community College.Working along with the architects and construction supervisors, the RBA team installed 2 large and 20 smaller site-specific paintings in a permanent installation.

Louisiana State Museum Relocation

R.B.A. was selected to relocate the contents of the Museum after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Daring to Resist: Jewish Defiance in the Holocaust

R.B.A. organized and coordinated the shipping of artifacts and WWII vintage weapons currently on display at the museum.

Einstein Manuscripts

RBA coordinated the shipments of Einstein’s handwritten manuscripts of the General and Special Theory of Relativity.
