Arctic weekend temperatures turned sea water to ice at Pendine over the weekend. Otherareas of the U.K also saw coastal waters begin to freeze. Apparently temperatures droppedto minus 12 in most of the country in the early hours of Saturday morning. I spoke to twolocal men who remembered the last time the sea in Pendine was frozen over. They said itwas very unusual to see the ice on the sea at this time of the year. The freezing point variesbased on the amount of salt in the water. Generally seawater freezes at around -2 degreesC (28.4 degrees F)
