To create my Opie Self Portrait, I used the program Photoshop. First of all, I took a photo of myself on Photo Booth and then opened it into Photoshop. I then gradually built up my portrait by creating new layers for each feature of me, so for example, I created a layer for my glasses, my eyes and the logo on my shirt. I then began to digitally recreate these features using the Magnetic Lasso Tool and the Paintbrush Tool. I did this for each feature, and my portrait began to gradually build up.

I then began to digitally recreate these features using the

Magnetic Lasso Tool and the Paintbrush Tool.

I did this for each feature, and my portrait began to gradually build up.

And finally, to finish off my portrait, I added one more layer and used the paint bucket tool to add a bold background colour.

I have used Photoshop in the past so there wasn’t really anything that I was completely confused with or new to. I just occasionally forgot to make sure that the right layers on top, just basic errors. I would say that I was quite successful with this brief because my portrait includes all of my main features and I used various features on Photo Shop to achieve this. I could improve this by adding smaller details, such as different shades of red in my hair and creases in my clothing.
