  • Set ISO to approx 800.
    • Depends on how grainy you want the photo
  • Set exposure compensation tothe highest + number.
  • Set program mode to Aperture Priority.
    • Select widest aperture (Lowest Number).
  • Set Focus to Manual. (usually set to infinity)

7. Long Exposure FOR DIGITAL

  • Set timer to release shutter.
  • Place camera on tripod.
  • Manually focus camera.
  • Press shutter release button.

8. Long Exposure FOR FILM

  • Set exposure compensation to the highest + number.
    • Looking for approx. 5 to 6 stops overexposed.
  • Everything else is the same as digital.

9. Long Exposure FOR FILM

  • Set timer to release shutter.
  • Place camera on tripod.
  • Manually focus camera.
  • Press shutter release button.

10. Painting with Light

  • Set ISO to approx 400 - 800.
    • Depends on how grainy you want the photo.
  • Set program mode to Manual.
  • Set Aperture to widest (smallest Number).
  • Set Shutter speed to 30.
  • Set Focus to Manual.

11. Painting with Light

  • Set timer to release shutter.
  • Place camera on tripod.
  • Manually focus camera.
  • Press shutter release button.
  • Fire flashes
    • Keep in mind you only have 30 seconds.
      • May want to use more than 1 flash.
