Maxwell Photography has a worldwide reputation for creating imaginative and eye catching images using state of the art technology and experienced photographers.

Maxwells prides itself on its quality of service and consistent record of reliability and punctuality with a rapid response facility, should the need arise.

With combined experience in excess of 50 years and over 12 years experience in Overseas Governmental and Presidental Visits, the staff at Maxwells recognises and appreciates the necessity of adhering to differing foreign protocol, and all our photographers are registered Safe Pass members.

THE TEAM

Mark MaxwellManaging Director and Photographer

Mark started his career with the Irish Times and later worked for the Irish Independent Group and has accompanied President of Ireland, Mary McAleese on State visits throughout her presidency.

He has travelled extensively throughout the USA, South America, South Africa, Middle and Far East as well as the UK on a range of international assignments. His work is also published by Irish and UK newspapers on a daily basis.

Tony MaxwellDirector and Photographer

Tony has worked for Irish and international media and his work is published daily in Irish and UK newspapers. Tony has travelled extensively in pursuit of his work and completed many tours on State and official visits with various Government Departments to Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Korea, USA, Canada, Africa, Europe and Russia.

Tony has an eye for newsworthy PR photographs and unscheduled news photo opportunities and has worked closely with the Áras an Uachtaráin media team.

Julien Behal Senior Photographer

Julien joined Maxwells after a career as staff photographer with the Press Association of Dublin, which saw him reach the highs of covering two Olympic games, European Championships, International News Stories and Heineken Cup Finals. Julien is a consistent winner in the Press Photographer of the Year Awards, and other international competitions,. Among his many accomplishments, he is one of only a handful of Irish photographers to make it to the front page of TIME Magazine.

Lisa O’Rourke Admin

Lisa worked on the picture desk of a national newspaper before joining

Maxwells and has been the Office Manager at Maxwells for a number of years. Lisa is a well-respected professional in the industry providing an efficient interface with picture desks and news desks of the leading newspapers and magazines in Ireland, UK and further afield.

Marie Maxwell Studio Manager

Marie is the Studio Manager at Maxwells and is responsible for ensuring the highest standards apply to the images developed by Maxwells and that clients future needs are reflected in our image retrieval systems.

Tony McCleanPhotographer

Tony has been working as a freelance photographer with the agency for the past five years. His work appears on a daily basis in the national newspapers and Tony has covered major news events in recent years, including the USA President Obama’s State visits to Ireland in 2013.

His work is always different and he displays a keen eye on the unexpected, which he seems to capture on a regular basis.

John McElroyPhotographer

John comes from a background in the Communications Centre TV Studios, where he studied 16mm film production, and worked in the radio and TV studios on a daily basis. Since then, he has worked with Maxwells for the past twenty years. Over the years as a stills photographer, John has covered many memorable events, such as several EU Presidential events, State Visits, and the visits to Ireland of President Clinton, Bush and Obama.

Anne Devereux Accounts

Anne was formerly employed in the Accounts Department of Aer Lingus is the Accounts Manager at Maxwells. Anne is responsible for issuing detailed invoices to our clients for each assignment carried out by Maxwell’s photographers. She is also responsible for ensuring that each client receives any promotion packages or discounts which have been agreed with the Agency.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Maxwell Picture Agency Ltd., trading as Maxwell Photography was founded in 1956 by Pat Maxwell. Always keen to keep up with the increasing development of technology, Maxwells were one of the first photographic companies to embrace digital photography, with the purchase of 2 Kodak phase 1 Digital Cameras and were the first company in Dublin to have transmission facilities. Early pioneers of digital transmission, the team transmitted pictures from Africa on a daily basis during the first major overseas trip in the 1990s, using a Nokia 6610 mobile phone. Maxwells still has a policy of updating its photographic equipment on an ongoing basis, most recently updating to the Canon EOS-1DX camera system and always have the most recent software.

WE LOVE ANIMALS

Here at Maxwell Photography we just love animals of all shapes and sizes. We jump at any opportunity to snap a rare moment in the animal kingdom whether it’s the first steps of a baby tiger or cheeky chimps wrestling and getting up to mischief.

People say never to work with children or animals but we disagree, without them we would miss out on some amazing images!

OUR TECHNICAL RESOURCES

The Maxwells Studio is fitted with cutting edge IT infrastructure comprising of professional digital imaging technology supplied by Image Supply Systems.

Maxwells has a RAID system with a capacity of over 12 terabytes which is used for efficient data storage, with a back up onto an automated backup system as extra security. This is further backed up by an offsite storage system, so your photos are always safe!

Maxwells computer suite is fitted with Mac computers, which always run the latest OS with regular maintenance checks by Image Supply Systems to ensure high performance.
