These are some photos of the trees and plants which used to grow around jaipur in the wild but are now actively cultivated to keep the desert at bay. Fiber of plants like akada (Calotropis procera) is used to make hand made paper.

As you move towards villages where ground water level has fallen a lot, the greenery gets sparser and you see khejari (prosopis cineraria) & babool(Acacia Nilotica) and cacti growing.
