The overall story for our movie is ….
• Michelle, a young girl in Leyton Sixth Form College lives her life
as she normally would but to no avail everyone in the college
would constantly bully, abuse and discard her. Everyone except
for one girl. This one girl would do anything to protect her…
Anything.
Through out our trailer we were able to use mise-en-scene to
convey a specific atmosphere which is eerie and mysterious. This was to get a
certain emotion/ reaction out of our target audience. For example we made sure our
lighting was dark. This was so our audience could feel scared or at least question
why the scene was so dark. E.g. “What are they trying to hide?”
We also used our location to ensure we gave off an eerie atmosphere by recording
in areas which benefitted this.
We also used our camera angles to show different aspects to the
trailer and to also show levels of power through out the trailer. For example the
scene when Michelle is crying in the corner being bullied. As that is shot from a high
angle it shows us that Michelle has not much power in this situation and that the
people around her do.
Our target audience was aimed and students. The age rating for our film is for 15
year Old's because we have scenes that would be inappropriate for anyone under
the age of 15. We presented to some 16 and 17 year olds and we had some
feedback, everyone we asked said that they really enjoyed our trailer and how the
effects were very good. The fact that it was filmed in a college links in well with the
fact that it is made for them. Also there are scenes that involve a lot of some social
media which a lot of students have these days.
We received positive feed back from our peers:
• “It is quite literally eye-catching and it makes the genre of the film well known
just by looking at the poster”
• “The face in the eye fits the theme very well, its simple but bold.”
As a class we sat together and watched other videos and explored different camera shot and concepts as well as collectively giving our ideas on what we believe the mise-en-scence was and how it is used in film making.
We found that is was very helpful especially when sharing ideas as a class it gives us to voice our opinion's as well as learning from each other which was great to incorporate with research.
The pre-production process was successful because it helped us further develop our ideas and with the planning prior to the process of production.
As a group we found it quite hard to film due to the fact we had a few issues in our casting ,locations and not filming important scenes. But we also founding it hard with our schedule being so tight but my team and I took it upon our selves to film in our own time which was great because it made is come out with a better product then when we first filmed
