GONE ROGUEThe short film, ‘Gone Rogue’, is about a boy, who’s father has cancer and he has no money to save his life. The doctors say, that his father has less time to live, or else he’ll die. Then the boy goes, ask for help, from his neighbors, family, friends, and relatives, but no one is interested in helping him. Then he sits in a park, thinking about his father, and how can he save his life, he is then forced to act evil.Afterwards, he goes, grabs his gun, and robs the shop. He then runs away with the money, but in the end, the police hunt him down. In his last breaths, he thinks of his childhood in a flashback, the times where he spent with his father, all gone. Then he dies. The title ‘Gone Rogue’ means, a good person, is turned into a bad person, act rogue, doing wrong.

While I was planning to make this short film, I was inspired by some movies, which involved actions and had a good story line. These movies were; Taken starring Liam Neeson, Broken Arrow featuring John Travolta, Con Air starring Nicolas Cage and many more. These movies inspired me to make this short film.

Hollywood drama TV series which inspired me the most is Breaking Bad, which is created by Vince Gilligan, starring Bryan Cranston, and Aaron Paul. The story is amazing, acting, the action everything. With this I got an idea about what type of short film should I make.

Dexter is another TV series, which I got inspired of, it has an amazing storyline.

1)How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do

they represent social groups or issues?Ans) The product which I made, short film, highlights the issues and problems faced by young people and teenagers. They are force to do evil, and accept illegal actions. With this, they suffer, and in the end face death.

This issue is really important, as most of young people face this, and do evil activities which harm them and others too, they murder, are involved in robbery and theft, drugs etc. This issue are mostly faced by middle class and lower class people.

The social groups which are targetted, or represented in this short film, are middle and lower class people, who face issues, troubles in their lives, and in the end are forced to do bad things, these good people are turned into evil.

The people, families, relatives, in the end don’t help, so the person is forced to solve his problems in a demonic way, where he robs, theft, murders etc.

2) How do the elements of your production work together to create a

sense of branding?Ans) The production work, the shortfilm, webpage, and postcard are all connected and work together to create a sense of branding. The colour schemes of both webpage and postcard are the same, the fonts are also more likely the same, as it shows an impact tone.

I have used the image of the postcard on the webpage to show a connection between them both.

3) How do your products engage with the audience and how would they be distributed as real media products?

Ans) The short film which I have made, engages with the audience as they face similar issues, and experience it in their daily lives. The audience experience this film, as in reality, they are touched with the issues the middle and lower class people face. It makes them think about their childrens’ future, and about the consequences they face in their daily lives.

The short films are distributed as real media products, using vimeo, internet, where they can view it.It is distributed to facebook, where people watch, and are mostly active, they will view it and will think about their future and their children's future. Social websites are the main sites, where this short film will bring affect, as it will make the people make choices in their lives.

4) How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware and online?

In my short film, I planned to work using a dslr, to shoot the video. As using a dslr to shoot a video is pretty much easy.I used different angles to capture the videos, and it turned out to be amazing. Some camera angles which I used are in the evidence of work on my blog.

I did use some props for the video, like guns, cars, photo frames etc. which were useful in this video.

The props, like guns were toys, and an air gun. It was difficult to arrange such type of guns which could look real. So I arranged for an air gun and a toy ak-47.we had to take special permission to use it as the place where we shot this film was an army area.

The software which I used to edit this film, is windows movie maker, which makes us easy to

edit films and videos. The functions and

editing is easy. It took me 12 hours to edit it,

as it was simple, or else it would've took days to

edit this film. The hardware I used

was my laptop to edit this film.

For making my postcard, I used picassa, it made it easier to edit the picture and made it an amazing postcard. The colour adjustments are all used by this software.

The webpage was designed using wix.com, where all the work was done easily, colour adjustments, everything was easily done. With this, it made it a lot easier for me to design a website. This is really useful.
