In the band room, during second period, junior Keegan Crow practices a holiday piece on his trumpet. Keegan started playing the trumpet in middle school.“It’s a fun organization to be a part of and you make a lot of friends,”Keegan Crow said.

During second period junior Matt Duvall and sophomore Gavin Baker play their tubas while senior Grant George (left to right) plays his trombone. The trio of brass instrument players performed their part of the piece Full Tilt as others listened. “I started band in seventh grade and my parents were in band, my brother was in band and it’s pretty great,” Matt Duvall said.

During second period, (left to right) junior AJ O’ Connell, who plays saxophone, practices the piece Full Tilt with trumpet players Henry Crosby (senior) and Ethan Smart (sophomore). AJ started playing saxophone in middle school.“I love playing saxophone and hanging out with my friends,” AJ O’ Connell said.

During second period, junior Michael Sobieski plays Full Tilt on his french horn with the rest of the brass ensemble. Michael started playing music in fourth grade and has continued to play through high school. ”I’ve stayed with it because of all the friends I’ve made. They're the best people in the school,”Michael Sobieski said.

Junior trumpet players Conner Glicer, Blake Honaker, and sophomore trumpeter Kendall Klemm (left to right) play a holiday piece in their second period class. The trio agreed that the best part about band was the friendships they made. “The hearing loss is worth the friendship,”Kendall Klemm said.

As a part of the wind ensemble, (Left to right) Seniors Annie Hall and Taylor Newman play their bassoons and freshman Amanda Lee plays her flute during second period. While Amanda has played the flute for years, it is her first year playing at Frisco. “There are a lot of challenges and it’s great being able to overcome them and learn,”Amanda Lee said.

During second period, woodwind instruments and brass instruments work together as(Left to right) junior saxophonist AJ O’Connell, and trumpeters Henry Crosby (senior) and Ethan Smart (sophomore) play the song Full Tilt. Henry has played the trumpet for seven years and, as a senior, this will be his last year playing at Frisco. “It’s great to have a network of friends to go to for anything I need,” Henry Crosby said.

In second period, freshman euphonium player, Brandon Sharp, plays the piece Midway March as a member of the brass section. Brandon started playing the euphonium in middle school and hasn’t stopped since. “I joined band because of the music,” Brandon Sharp said.

In the choir room, during second period, junior Kailey Rice sings along side senior Ashleigh Smith( right to left) as a part of Triple Trio. Kailey has been singing for as long as she can remember. “I enjoy the close friendships that form in the class and I like singing because it’s my passion,” Kailey Rice said.

!In the choir room, Senior vocalist Ashleigh Smith examines her music sheet, before singing with the rest of the class. Ashleigh has enjoyed her time singing in the Frisco High School Choir and is sad that this will be her last year performing with the group. “Choir is a place where you can be yourself and do what you love,”Ashleigh Smith said.

During second period, surrounded by his peers, sophomore clarinet player, Antonio Rojas writes down notes on his sheet music as he prepares to play one of his parts. Antonio has played clarinet since middle school.“Band friends are the best friends.” -Antonio Rojas

Senior Taylor Newman plays her bassoon alongside freshman flutist, Amanda Lee (left to right) in the band room, during second period. Taylor has been in the band since she was in sixth grade and has continued to play because of all the friends she has made participating in this organization. “I stay in band because of the friendships I’ve made and the ones I’ve gained along the way,”Taylor Newman said.

In the band room, during second period, Seniors Christopher Smith and Eliza Kenyon (left to right) play their Euphoniums. Both students played in middle school and continued to play throughout high school. “I’m in band because I enjoy playing music with people who appreciate it as much as I do,”Eliza Kenyon said.

During second period, Senior Grant George plays Full Tilt on the trombone as a part of the second band. Grant has played the trombone since sixth grade. “Music has brought me lots of friends,”Grant George said.
