ARID CLIMATIC REGION A region is arid when it is

characterised by severe lack of water to the extent of hindering or peventing the growth and development of plant and animal growth. Desert climate is an arid climate in which preciptation is too low to sustain vegetation and at most scanty rainfall region . The average annual rainfall in arid region is 0-25.
