No niin. Sinua, kaamosta katson autuaana. Hiuksiasi omi hilehalla. Hipsii sitten ujo routaharso. Luomulumi olillasi, lutusievä tytysuu.

Kotien onni onneni on, ei pukki. Utelutaitosi eno ottaa, estää. Joulu kun on, saat nannat. Oi, pakettia avaa ja toivo. Aito kuutamo, uksilla koristeet. Ne mies itse koki. Naattia ala! Saa taas aattosyyhy pennut. Saa joulumielet nuuka.

Sais’ kuura valoisana soida, ritiavannot ajaa jäälle.

Haa, lahtaa sikas’. Siskot, ei nuku pimu. Liki on aaton aamu. Hei, kata pöytä. Tää päivä hieno lie. Rakas se suukottaa. Tuuli, ehtana soi himmeli. Tipi tipi tip tap! Osaat soitot. Anna uupuva havupuu, anna toti.

Ostaa sopat piti. Piti, piti. Lemmi! Hio sanat. Heiluu taatto kuusessa. Kare ilon ei häviä. Päätä työ. Pata kiehumaan ota. Ano ikilumipuku, nietoksissa kisaat. Halaa hellää. ”Ja ajatonna vaiti radio”; sanasi ol’.

Avaruuksia sa kuuntele. Imu luojaas’ tunne. Pyhyys ottaa saa. Taas ala-aittaaniko kestiseimen teet? Siro, kallis kuoma, tuu kotia. Ovi ota ja avaa. ’Itte’ kapiot annan taas. No, nuku. Luo jäät?

Se aatto on. Ei sotia tule. Tuikku pienoinen noin.

No, Neito-Kuu, sytytä veisutuli. Salli loimulumo. Ulos raha, tuo roju, netti! Siis pihalla heli-himoisa isku. Ihanaa utua nosta.

Katso, maa kaunis niin on.

Christmas Palindrome by Harri Carlson

Here we go.

Blessed I look at You. Oh, beautiful Polar Night.

Icy frost desires your lovely hair.

And so…you get the purest snow-crown.

Oh my cutest beauty with sighing lips.

Instead of Santa Claus, happiness of homes, is my happiness.

Be aware little spy, dear uncle knows all your tricks.

Well after all, it’s Christmas. So those candies are for you.

And all those presents! Oh, open them, and make a wish!

A real moonlight. And decorations hanging on the doors.

A lonely man could see them all.

So people, start to enjoy!

On Christmas eve the children are going crazy.

And even the stingy ones get that Christmas spirit.

Beautiful hoar-frost why don’t you sing always like this?

Oh please fly, drive those icy holes to the lake! Rudolf Koivu. (1890-1946)

Say farewell to your pig.

Sisters, there is no time for sleeping now. It is Christmas Morning!

So hurry up, set the table. This will be a beautiful day.

My darling is kissing me.

The silence plays its symphony in the wind.

Jingle all the way! Boy, you can play!

Give me a sleeping Christmas tree.

Give me a nog!

Oh no, we forgot to buy the pudding!

Let it be. Come here, my love.

Whisper the right words.

Grandpa is falling (in) the Christmas tree.

This fresh joy will never vanish.

So leave your work. Let the stew simmer.

Search your winter clothes. Go out. Dive into the snow!

Love me tender.

“ May that radio stay silent”, you say.

Listen to the stars.

Let the Nature touch you.

Let the Sacredness overwhelm.

.

A manger, like a small nest, is made to the outbuilding.

Sweet darling, please come home.

Open that door. I will give you the trousseau.

So sleep, stay by me.

It is Christmas Eve.

There will be no wars.

Oh little candle, how weak you are.

Well, Lady-Moon, set those praising torches.

Let that Arctic light flame again.

Throw out the money, internet and all that rubbish.

Let that sparkling desire dance in the starry sky.

Rise that lovely mist.

Look, how beautiful is the Earth.
