The Selfish Crocodile

• Visual style The visual style of the book is quite bright it tends to use bright colours that attract the eye each page tends to be quite busy as in it has a a lot going on for example there are a lot of animals on each page and there's always something to look at. The illustrations tend to be hand drawn its go a quite cartoony styled affect to it which is good for a children's book.

• Layout of text and imagesThe text tends to merge with the images its easy to read and quite short due to the fact they have used quite bright colours the font is black this is good because the background of the image helps to make the font stand out

• Fonts and text per page The text tends to be placed towards the top of the image I believe this works better as the reader will avert their eyes towards the top of the page and make there way down this way it explains what is happening on the page and gives it an image as well. The book tends to write little on each page this works because the book is targeted towards younger children who may not be able to read full sentences yet

• Visual style The visual style of the book is quite dark as it is mainly sketched and shaded in the book is quite busy as in it has a a lot going on for example each page has a lot to look at like and there’s always something to look at. The illustrations tend to be hand drawn its got a sketched cartoony style affect to it which to me seems quite dull to look at.

• Layout of text and imagesThe text is on a separate page to the illustration the book tends to have a lot of text so this book is probably aimed at older kids due to the fact they have placed the text on a separate page it is quite easy to read

• Fonts and text per page The text tends to be in the middle of the page I believe this works better as the reader will avert their eyes towards the left hand side first which the writing is on so they will read the story first then be able to look at the image that goes with the text

• Visual style The visual style of the book is bright the illustrations are sketched the book is quite quiet as it has bases the image on just one thing for an example each page hasn’t got much it just has a cat or dog in a position where as the other kids book tended to have a lot in the image an were quite busy a lot to look at like and there’s always something to look at

• Layout of text and imagesThe text is on a separate page to the illustration the book tends to have little text and is easy to read this book is also probably aimed at younger kids as well

• Fonts and text per pageThe text tends to be in the middle of the page I believe this works better as it is easy to read and stands out where as if the text was paced on the same page as the image it could look bad for example they could choose a bad colour scheme which hide the writing making it hard to read
