Casting Decisions for ‘Tardigrade’

Main Character (Dr Mason Cooper)

For our main character we have chosen Jaden because his

personality fits with our main character and he will be able to execute the character well. We can link his character to Will

Smith’s character in I am legend Dr Robert Neville as their

characters are both trying to find a cure. Jaden can be seen as

strong and a leader which are the characteristic he needs for his

character.

Mason’s Assistant (Dr Amelia Hart)This character is Dr Mason Cooper’s personal assistant who

is there to help him out with making the vaccine/virus. I will be playing this character since

she is represented as kind, organized and dedicated and me and my group fell that I would fit the part of this character. I can link my character to Dr Leonora Orantes from Contagion since

both of the characters are sophisticated in the area of work.

Head of Government (Gabriel Garcia)

Seb’s character is the head of the government who initiates the

plan to reduce the world population. His character can be link to the character in The Maze

Runner Ava Paige as they are both manipulative in the way

they are presenting their plans. Seb comes across as confident and powerful which makes him

fit this character well.

Gabriel’s Assistant/Scientist (Dr

Amory Sheppard)This character is Gabriel's assistant but she is also a scientist. Dr Amory is the

character that comes up with the idea of using tardigrade in the virus to reduce the population.

Amy’s character is represented as analytical and strategist and we as a group think that Amy fits

with this characters persona. Her character can be linked to Dr Frankenstein since they both

mess around with human nature without knowing the possible

consequences.

News Reporter (Kate Aide)

Samah’s character is a reporter who is reporting live about the

zombie crisis before her and the cameraman are overrun by

zombies. Samah and her character are represented

innocent and vulnerable and when audience watch they will feel sympathetic for her. Her

character can be linked to other news reporter as she will still

have her professional edge when she is talking to the camera.

Survivor (Grace Taylor)Grace Taylor is one of two survivor that we have included in our trailer. We have chosen Tanastwa to play

this character as Grace is presented as fierce, violent, strong and

confident and our group thinks that Tanastwa will fit perfectly with this character. Her black leather jacket

she is wearing can help to connote to her characters characteristics. Her character can be linked to Emma

stone’s character in Zombieland as they both are presented the same

way.

Survivor (Charlotte Martinez)Charlotte is our second of our survivors who comes from a

wealthy background. The character is represented as fearless and but can also be

shown as vulnerable at times. From these characteristics we feel that Alice will be able to fit

with the profile of this character. The character can be linked to Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy even though they aren’t from the same film genre their characteristics are the same.

World GovernmentThe world government are only in one scene

which is when they are discussing the plan to reduce the population.

They need to be dressed professional and they

are presented as persuasive and they are the ones who make the

decisions. They can then be linked to the

government in the film Contagion.
