ART – Day by Day
by Rosemary Schram
Here is my Index Card Challenge for the month of June.
Use index cards to create small art pieces daily. This
allows you to quickly connect to your creative self each
day which then empowers you to create even larger
connections in life.
Try creating a stained glass window
effect using colored markers.
Vary the position of the Index Card to
create a different effect. This was done
mostly with highlighters and line
markers.
Add writing to your art to give it a
personal touch. This was made with
acrylic paints and a black marker.
Experiment with images that can
be flipped in different directions.
Made with acrylic paints.
Allow your writing to come
from your art. Made using
markers and highlighters.
Inspired writing from art made using
kids colored tempera paint sticks.
Collage made using shiny paper cut
into a spiral shape holding a 3D
butterfly sticker.
Stamping art made with acrylic
paint, sponges and circle patterns.
Caterpillar created with circles
cut from shiny paper on a
background of glitter glue.
Use your favorite character trait and
ignite it with color and texture.
Collage made with yarn, ribbon,
washi tape and tissue paper.
Use only colorful glitter glue
and see what you can create.
Spring or summer flowers
made using chalk pastels.
Combine geometric shapes and
a background of colored sand
to produce textural art.
Splatter painting on a coffee filter.
Add some lines with a metallic marker.
Geometric shapes using colored
pencils with a feather added for fun.
Consider adding lots of dots to
your next abstract art picture.
Outlining shapes can put a
unique emphasis on them.
Abstract art may actually have images
hidden in it. Be sure to turn your
picture in all directions to see them.
Play with ways to put words
and movement in your art.
Layer geometric shapes and then
turn some in other directions.
Stamping is fun when you add
metallic paint or metallic markers.
Paint a picture and add stickers or
page markers for a 3D look.
Mix and match foam stickers added
to a picture made with markers.
Create Zentangle type shapes on Rainbow
Scratch Off paper. Then cut them out and add
additional colors with markers for a new look.
Take a clue from a
sticker and expand it.
Even varying the sizes of just one
shape can make an interesting drawing.
Look through magazines and find an
interesting image. Then add words
or colors to make it your own.
Try reusing old cards. Cut out images
from them. Then add words and
stickers to bring them back to life.
Layer small textured material
samples, stickers and words for
a special one of a kind message.
